About the only reason I set this up is because of how ridiculous it is lol. Once at work when I asked my watch to start my truck, a co-worker laughed and said “good one” and at first I couldn’t figure out what he was laughing at, so it created a weird moment. He didn’t realize that one can actually start a vehicle using a mobile device or accessories, so he thought I was trying to make a weird joke.

Saw your post and tried it on Android, similar options. Major win, thank you.

My only options for re-adding the Remote Connect is either $15/mo or $25/mo. This is ridiculously expensive. However, I can still start it with the key fob by pressing the lock button three times and holding it down on the third time.

I know this thread is about Remote Connect but thought I'd ask a Drive Connect service question in regards to Cloud Navigation GPS. Does Drive Connect use cellular service or the data on your cell phone when using carplay for navigation? My cell plan has unlimited cellular but limited data.
I got this from the description of the Direct Connect plan but thought it might be generic and plastered on all plans lol.

" * Cloud Navigation requires a trial or subscription to Drive Connect. Drive Connect availability and accuracy depend on certain factors outside of Toyota's control in order to operate, including 4G network availability, a cellular connection and GPS signal. Without any one or more of these things, operability may be limited or precluded. Services subject to change at any time without notice. Requires app download/registration and subscription after trial (if applicable). Terms of Use apply. Data charges may apply. Try turning off internet data on your phone (or just turn phone off) and see if there is any difference in navigation.

The beautiful girl who demonstrated the features to me at the closing took my phone from me and opted me in for all the services, so they are all actve until May 28, 2026. The one thing I noticed in the phone app is that my Sirius trial subscription ends this month, and I can re-up for $5 month for 12 months, I thought okay..clicked the subscribe button, it took me to the Sirius site where the plan is $5 for only six months, then $25 month thereafter. NO THANKS (for the bait and switch.)

Thanks. It's cellular and no data. First time using Carplay and it was different. I just need to get used to it since I will most likely end my subscription end.
