So in December of 2016 I bought 295/70/r18 Cooper STT pros and had them mounted on my factory TRD offroad wheels, additionally I installed 1.75" BORA wheel spacers. I love the look/size, but the hum driving down the road is getting to me. My truck is on the pavement 99% of the time these days so a MT tire is purely for aesthetics.

Ive put about 15,000 on these tires, rotated every 5k and they still look damn near brand new. The hum is not from poor wear its just the nature of an MT. Im trying to figure out what a reasonable selling price would be for the wheels/tires/spacers/tpms and lugs. I would switch to and aftermarket wheel and AT tire. I could try and stick it out for 2 more years, but figure it might be best to sell while the tires still hold good value.

    What do you all think?

I would think you could part out the spacers / TRD wheels / Cooper tires and get a lot of what you need to recoup your money after buying rims with a better offset and AT tires.

I’d think you could easily get $150 for spacers, $5-600 for the rims, and $750+ for the tires.

Cooper ST Maxx may be a happy medium for you. I am running them and they are just now getting moderately loud at 40k miles. Should get another 10-15k out of them too.

Sell em. I had some toyo that were super loud when I bought my truck used. Could of gotten another 15k out of them. That's 3 years for me so they had to go. I sold the set of 4 for $400. Lasted 1 day on Craigslist. I'm sure you can get much more. Just didn't have time to mess with it. Instantly loved the truck more without the hum of tires at 65mph.

I might be interested in the tires and spacers if you’d be willing to separate them from the wheels. I’d also be willing to do an even trade for my TOYO C/Ts that have about the same mileage. They are a little larger if that doesn’t dissuade you

I can shoot you a PM if you’re interested

    Thoughts?

Alright sounds like I’m on the right path with my thinking. Wasn’t planning on separating the wheels and tires but may if I can’t sell as a package.

Almaboy send me a PM. My zip is 61201 FYI. Most likely to far apart

Ditto on the ST Maxx. I have a set of STT Pro M/T's but wanted a real good set of A/T's to use during the fall and winter months so I'm running with the ST Maxxs' now. Great A/T tread.

295/70/18 is a great tire size for our truck imo.

Get the new ones and be happy. Your gonna spend it at some point mine as well be sooner then later. Get what money you can from your existing wheels and tires and call it good.

This is what I’m thinking. Just bite the bullet and take the loss.

I think I would separate the tires and wheels if possible. Probably make a few more bucks that way. It seems the tire/wheel combo's I see on CL go for a bit less than the individually priced items.
