This isn't my truck, but apparently the 14+ bumper bolts right up to a 2nd gen, but the body lines don't align perfectly and I believe a little tweak to the end caps fixes the lines.
So u can probably bolt your bumper directly on a 2nd gen and see how it looks

The truck belongs to a guy on Tundra Crew. You can see the end of the bumper isn't perfect with the fender, close though.

Yeah I'll snap a pic when it's not raining/snowing out and post it up. Only sticks out a few inches.

I had that suspicion actually, a test fit of the '14 bumper onto a 07-13 was one of my intentions for just that reason, however I intend on doing a specific 07-13 even if the '14 could be made to fit easily. I think I can do a higher/more aggressive 07-13 bumper that will match that trucks styling better than this one would

So Eric... I've been looking at 3rd gen bumpers vs 2nd. All the 2nd gen bumpers just don't look that appealing to me. Not saying anything bad about them, but I'm wondering why a nice low profile bumper can't be dreamed up instead of all the monster bumper designs. Let me see if I could get an idea across to you without drawing one. Like mototundra says above, the bumper is in the exact same spot on the new tundras as it is on the old. So why not build a sleek bumper to fit under the valance of the 2nd gen, instead of removing the valance. There are a couple of bumpers like I mention out there, but they are still way to big. I'm talking, not letting the bumper stick out more than a hair past the front of the valance and sides of the valance. On the sides not more than a 3 inches or so tall so trucks with 3 inch lifts look good and have front tire clearance. The other thing is a winch. Demello built a winch plate to fit behind the stock bumper so there's plenty of clearance not to have the bumper stick out past the valance. I personally will never run fender flares and would love to see a bumper that didn't stick out on the sides more than a quarter to half inch.

I guess my main thing I'm trying to get across is building something that goes with the valance, compliments it. Not just some giant mustache of a bumper hanging there looking out of place like some of the 2nd gen bumpers out there. I'm definitely looking for a plate bumper too. I know there are the pre runner style bumpers out there, but I'm just not a fan.

I'm terrible with photo shop or things like that, but in this pic I shaded the stock bumper to kind of give you an idea of how tall of a bumper for the sides. You can see it is about the size of the front angle of the valance.

Man, I hope I haven't overstepped my bounds here. All of your work and designs are top notch. I just thought sinc you haven't come out with a 2nd gen bumper, I might throw an idea or my two cents in. It seemed to me, there would be less fab work this way too and less angles to deal with. And my thoughts here in no way criticize any of your work.

Just thought I'd add, if I owned a 14, I'd buy your bumper! It looks great.

    Ok, happy new year.

I actually think my 3rd gen bumper could fit your 2nd, back at the top of this page there was a bit of discussion, may be what you're looking for....
Or maybe full custom is the way to go, but I really need to get my hands on a 2nd gen!
    Happy new year!

I have been looking at and looking for the right winch and bumper for my Pro for almost a year. This really looks nice! I dislike the useless bullbars, don't care for the excessive weight of so many and think the useless bars hoops and grills are pretty silly unless you have some specific need (I have seen the stinger hoop used for rapid winch cable wraps in lieu of slow re-winds when multiple pulls are coming). As soon as this is firmed up and priced out I would like to know. Thanks for filling a void with good looking design and fabrication!

Bring it down in May, fly back to CO and pick it up in Moab at RT this spring with a sweet bumper?

    Nothing yet! :(
2 guys in town need bumpers for their trucks, neither seem to be in to bring them down for some reason though. I know one of the guys' wife put her foot down.

I would do it but was calculating it out and the bumper would end up more expensive than if I just bought it and shipped it to me.

Hey, Eric, how are the bumpers coming along as far as timeline? I placed my order back in mid-January and was curious if this was going to be a 2, 3, or 4 month (or more) delivery so I can plan correctly when to order my 12k winch to arrive before installing.

Trying to coordinate getting my hands on a 2nd gen. Possibly in Mid-Dec if the one we've been talking with pans out. Fingers crossed, seems like plenty of interest just hard to get a rig to design on!

How long would you need the truck to design on? I live pretty much down the street from the shop.

We'd need 2-3 days with the truck for each bumper, currently have one panned out for a couple weeks from now though so as long as it works out as expected we should be good. Thanks for looking out though and I'll let ya know if we could maybe use your rig

Looks like there will be 2nd gen bumpers by the end of the year one way or another :woot:
