With the current popularity of short beds in just about every model of old and new trucks (check prices on older C10s if you don't believe me), I got to wondering if anyone had ever modded their Best Gen RCLB into a short bed since it was never a factory option (unlike the later-gen Tundras).

I don't love it, feel like a modest lift with much more modest wheels would be perfect (think first-gen Taco but with a hoss motor). Still, thought it was cool enough to warrant posting here.

There was a guy on TS years ago with a white FGT AC and a bobbed bed for improved departure angle. It was dope.

The last time we talked about it everyone was heckling the build quality. Like i think the sliders were more show than go, and maybe the link arm mounts, but i dont really remember.

Well got dang if we haven't already talked about everything on here! Searching "site:tundras.com regular cab short bed" didn't bring up any short bed first gens except that one. Welp, back to lurking and posting CraigsList finds I go.....

I've had better luck searching for the things on here using Google

The only reason I found it so quickly is because I remembered someone mentioned "SEMA", there was hack-ass welding involved, and it had Diamond in the rear, not to be be confused with the jewel @alb1k had in his rear.

If you've ever been to a SEMA show, you know there are builders who're just hacking to assemble stuff, practicality be damned. Very Weekend-At-Bernies. So I hit the big G and searched for site:tundras.com "SEMA" "Diamond" "welding" and ding ding ding.

I usually prefer not to use Google, only because it hits all the forums, not just the 1st Gen stuff. 1st Gen direct search is good, but you need to use the checkboxes to toggle modifiers in.

Different strokes for different folks but I have found my best luck with google when I use a slightly different variation when searching from Google site. Put what I'm searching for first, then our forum name in quotes if searching for 1st gen types and it will bring back what it finds from this forum.

regular cab short bed site:tundras.com "1st gen tundras"

I haven't had a lot of luck with using "1st gen tundras" as a key phrase. I think it's because it gets indexed on every page in every subforum thanks to the menu, so nearly every page on the site has that phrase. Google does have some SEO algorithms at play which probably help push 1st gen results up higher, but I still seem to get a lot of noise.

If you're meaning using actual Google site, it's always spot on for me and most every link is this 1st Gen Tundras Forum but of course YMMV for whatever reason.
