Thanks! Nice truck, steel front bumper and no fender flares, just the way I like them.

IMG_0440.jpg Friend works for Adams detailing, i did a quick wash and wax, w spray sealant before wintertime. Also wirewheeled , 3m paint and used PB blaster new oil based oil "rust preventer" . Way busy so just sprayed inside frame rails. Used about 90% of one can on front half of frame. It * looks good.

I love your setup! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your side steps/sliders? I also have a regular cab long bed and haven't had much luck finding any. Yours look awesome, I want some exactly like it. Thank you!

Anyone ever evaluated swingcases for the front corners of our beds? That’s where I really want to have my gear storage but there isn’t anything dialed in for our specific beds that I know of.

@FirstGenVol has one I think out of a 2nd gen. I've also read on here where a guy used one from a Ram 1500. Unsure of year or who on that one.

I'm aware of the former but I believe it is in the rear, near the tailgate as I'm 99% confident he is AC. I was speaking / thinking specifically about RCLB and the (very significant) space in front of the wheel humps to the front of the bed on each side. The AC bed has significantly less space in these corners.

Ok, you asked about the FRONT corner and I just read swing case and ran with it thinking AC/RC should be the same behind the wheel well to tailgate. :anonymous:

Yeah, a poorly worded question on my behalf but one I've been thinking about for a while now.

Man. Sweet truck. I bet she moved good ( relative to first gen Tundra) . Ive come to appreciate the RCLB , I think I got almost 350mpg with mix c/highway and a liaded toolbox. The dual cabs (atleast people I talk too ) seem to struggle to hit above 14mpg.

Here I am a loooong time ago. Flew to St Louis to buy an 04. Very hard to find especially a 4wd. Had every option except fog lights and aluminum wheels. Not sure if Toyota offered TRD off road on reg cabs never seen one. Had this till 2012 and sold to my brother and he still has it. Sticker was 26k and paid 20.4k for it. It was one of those advertised specials in the newspaper.

Hey guys. Noob here. I bought this 2wd SC 2 years ago from a previous employer going who sold out their business. I gave $350 for the truck, 198k on the clock, and it had an air compressor in the back I sold to a coworker for $600, plus my boss at the time put a new battery, fixed the interior door handles, and did a oil change for free. So I've decided I'm going to do a restore of sorts just to make her a little nicer to drive. I currently have all the parts to replace valve covers, timing belt and water pump, and plug, coils, and wires. I have a bed located about 3 hours from here that's in near perfect condition and a LWB fiberglass bed cover, not topper, but an actual cover. I'm going to repaint once I get the bed and bed cover here. I also added some new light fixtures in the front with mini projector bulbs and man what a difference it makes! 20250307_134523.jpg 20250406_192815.jpg I want to do a bench to bucket swap and I've found a 05 DC donor at my local u pull it yard, BUT I've been searching on here for 2 days and I haven't found a single write up of what's all needed to do this. All I've found are comments on other threads mentioning it. If you guys can give a link to one that would be awesome. Lots of work to do. Anyway. I hope to get to know some of you guys.

Welcome. IIRC, this will not work. The buckets must be from an AC or RC, not a DC unless you want to make modifications(?)

Really it had nothing to do with that. When the company sold out they were getting the info on all the trucks they were going to sell and they called our store and when my boss told the regional manager he was like wtf we have a 01 tundra?? He told him to sell it for whatever he could get and the other guys were trying to get it for like 100 or 150 and I told him that I would give 350 if no one beat me on the bid. So I ended up getting the truck and since they were selling out all expenses that month were going to the new company so my boss was like let's get a battery in it and get the door handles fixed and anything else that be fixed that it needs. So I was OK, how much is is going to cost me and he said buy my lunch tomorrow. So obviously I told him it was a deal. The truck never got used unless they needed a piggy back for the shop compressor then they would boost it off and pull it up to the shop and use it for that until they got whatever issue fixed with the shop compressor and then pull it out and park it. When we did the oil change when I bought it our oil change guy forgot to change the oil change sticker and currently the truck has 197800 and some change. The oil change sticker showed for like may of 2019 or 202500 and some change before it should be changed again. It's only got like 25 miles on it since I bought it 2022. Lol. Hence why I'm going through everything and going ahead and fixing it or changing it.

I don't mind mods, I'd just like to have a reference so I'm not going at it blind. I know the wiring on the seats will be totally different but I have access to all the wiring and plugs I need.
