Do you think the 4.30's will help with my overdrive issue? In reality I just want that to be gone or minimized, I hate feeling it shake the truck and having to drive differently to avoid the bogging, thanks for all the help I appreciate it

Since you have a 4" lift you could always go up in tire size to bring it back close to stock gearing with the 4.88 r&p

These tires are brand new so it would be a while before a they got swapped out, at least a year

An that's ok. Just saying you have that option if the 4.88 gearing ends up being too tall for your current tires. In your situation I would probably go with the 4.88's for that reason alone....can eventually have bigger tires with stock gearing.

I had the same thinking here, originally thought I could run 33's or more but now that I know all my gearing info I am thankful that I only went up one side but regret it being such a heavy tire, I feel like 4.88 is the best option and if 4.56 existed that would be my choice for sure

A bit of gearing goes a long way, even 4.10 would help greatly if not solve it. 4.30 is a much safer option even for a loaded bed.

Figured this would be the case, thats why I insisted on 4.30, however Wallygator is not wrong :D a year is not a lot of time for tire change, if you're going 34" or larger, then 4.88 is the right call

Truthfully I'm just trying to get rid of the issue and I rather overdo it and then have the means to go further when the time comes, I will probably be between 33" tires or 34's but again they will most likely be the high rated tires that can take the most force, they ride very rough but I promise you will never have a blow out unless you managed to really find something to get in there good

Give Keith Carty a call at 760-877-4234 to talk to him about gearing. He is a master at gearing trucks per best performance.

I'm actually have a TC issue not a gearing issue after further investigation and speaking to a knowledgeable transmission shop.
