Some say Nitro is a bit loud, so they choose Revolution instead.

I just hope PMW gives us the gears we chose, cause on my deposit invoice it didnt specify that I wanted Revolution like I Asked.

Yesterday they told me I can choose which brand on install day. I assume they have several on hand ready to go (it's a gear shop after all). I have no knowledge or experience with either...but have heard about the noise on Nitro. Can't seem to find any complaints on Revolution, sooooo prob what I go with :notsure:

Obviously one wants to get what one pays for....but can you really go wrong? Nitro, revolution, yukon, sierra, etc....is there one particular brand that you def wanna avoid because it's so cheap/bad? Is there even such a thing as a low quality "knock off" (if you will) gear brand out there?

I strongly believe it's all about the installation that sets the final product apart.

    All stock-ish. Powdercoated blue suspension.
My gears were installed back in 03/30/2021 and the mileage on my truck then was 52,216 (noted everything on my phone). Fast forward to today I am at 125,xxx miles, I did not hear any whine or howling noise whatsoever then until about November of 2022 it started, really really subtle almost couldnt hear it.

Now the only reason why I am assuming the whine occured is probably a diff fluid for me because in the beginning of 2022 I had Powertrax LSD installed (by another gear shop not PWG), so there was a different and specific gear fluid I would have to use now. It was when I did the diff fluid change in November 2022 and also mounted new tires is when I am hearing the whine noise roughly around 60mph accel and 70mph decel, if I stay away between those mph everything is fine. Once my next mileage is up for a diff fluid change I'll do more research on what I can use for both the gear and LSD to see if it goes away.

It is but I’m running pretty much the exact same group buy over on IG and TW. Just started it on Tuesday and we’re already in the 11-15 trucks tier. Should hit 16+ in a few days. If you or anyone else who missed it want to join feel free to PM me so you don’t have to make a TW account. We’re also working on getting a locker discount

Tomorrow! I spoke to them yesterday and they have Revolution gears and the LSD ready to go. The batch of clamshell bushings they ordered haven't come in so won't be getting that (I'll do it later myself if it becomes an issue). Will post up how it goes.

Alright, install complete. Nothing really to report. Took about 4.5 hours, hung out in the waiting area while it was getting worked on. Got the revolution gears. They did indicate that those were the gears that they had several sets in stock, already polished ready to go. Also, did get the bushing as turned out they did receive the shipment.

My install is scheduled for the 17th. I will be waiting onsite also. @kaymonster did they show you the parts before install or let you watch any of the work?

Sound is the same as before. No new sounds of any kind that I can detect. Still in the middle of my drive home to SD, so will continue to listen.

The feel and drive is nice. Slightly more revs, as expected (about 200 more rpm at 60 mph than stock). So far, feels better both on highway and city. Not sure how to describe it other than just a little more "lively". Kinda like when hitting the tow/haul button, just not as "jumpy", if you will. Very pleased at this stage (albeit it's only been a couple hours )

They did not...but I also didn't ask. It's a pretty standard shop setup....customer sits in waiting room while truck gets pulled around back.

Ya, everything seems perfectly fine. It might just be my imagination, but if I roll down the windows, turn off the radio, and drive next to a wall....when coasting around 30 mph and below, I can hear the faintest whistle as I coast to a stop. So faint though I'm not positive I hear it every time.

I prob have a close to 300 miles on them and I couldn't be happier. Love them around town and on the highway. Just did a test drive with my travel trailer for a trip I'm taking next week. Pulled it with ease...really don't need to hit the tow/haul button anymore.

Ha! After hanging there for the day and chatting with them, I'm confident Premier knows what they are doing and it's obvious they do a lot of gears. They did a great job on my truck and I have no complaints.
