Recommendations for smoother ride

    Ha, I find this thread kind of bizarre. Partially what got me looking at getting a Tundra was the ride quality. I tell people all the time how nice my Tundra rides. Only have about 5000 miles on it, so we'll see how it does down the road. But I think it rides very nice.

    When I first drove my 2018 Tundra it rode a little rougher than my 2007. Adjusted Tire pressure to 40psi and it rides just like my 2007.

    I would also recommend Road Force Balancing the tires at a place that knows how to do it. Even with my 18's it made quite a noticeable difference over a spin balance.

    I went from a 2016 Tacoma Sport to a Tundra Off Road. The Tundra feels like a Cadillac compared to the Tacoma. :)

    And I don't care what you say. My TRD rides just fine. I've even had compliments from passengers on the ride. With yellow shocks (soon to be 6112s and 5100s). I suggest you trade yours for a piece of Shilverado if you don't like it. It would be more productive than bitching about it here.

    Went from a 2006 DC to a 2017 CM Limited and what a huge difference in ride, especially at speed on the highway. WAY better in the 2017. Still running the factory installed 20" wheels and tires - 275/55/R20s Bridgestone Duelers 111H M/S Alenza with 29+k miles.

    Still deciding what to do next when time to replace the tires, but the ride is awesome. (Suggestions?)

    Just installed my Christmas present to me - TRD rear sway bar and will see how that runs this weekend.

    Since I put on beefer AT tire I noticed my ride has gotten a bit stiffer. To be expected, yes TRD Pro suspension does ride firm on road. I will be switching to kings next year and aftermarket UCA. I did replace my leaf springs last spring and ride improved, I will be installing CB +1 shackles here soon. Sure that will help as well. There are many ways to make Tundra ride smoother.

    Nothing yet, just got it Friday.
    I do want to make my ride a little smoother but do not want to spend more than I have to. If it is all about getting more air can I accomplish the same thing with changing my 275/55R20 to 275/65R20 ? Wouldn't a higher tire give more air?

    18" Michelin LTX M/S or Defender size 255/70 or 275/65 with brand new standard black shocks and about 200 lbs of weight in the bed should smooth out the ride for you.

    Going from stock to that size will also change you to LT tires which will have a much firmer ride

    Dirty Deeds 8" standard exhaust, King 2.5's/Bilstein 5160's, Built Right UCA,s, Method 701's, TOYO ATIII 35x12.5x17, TRD LED headlights, Pro Grill
    I had 20" inch wheels from dealer on TRD Off Road SR5 and swapped out stock shocks for Bilstein 6112s and 5160s. I set front to 1.3 setting and left rear stock height; ended up adjusting front to level and went 17" wheels/ 295/70r17 tires- rides smooth but still like truck- I am happy with it. The 20" wheels were OK on street as far as hauling ass but they got dominated on trails and even on road I felt all the pot holes.

    My 2020 1794 TRD offroad rides extremely well. Stiff over bumps, as you would expect a truck to be, but not "jittery" at all.
    I'd go to your local dealer and test drive a 2020 with 18" wheels and Michelin tires. If that truck rides better, you have a path to "fix" your truck. If it doesn't satisfy you, you're best bet may be a different brand, or something other than a pickup.

    I considered a used Land Cruiser for a while, but ultimately decided that I still wanted a pickup.

    My 18 rode significantly better than the 18 F150 Platinum I test drove while shopping, much more so now with the right suspension upgrades.

    Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension, HD RAS, 285/75-18 Nokian Outpost AT, LoPro bed cover, TRD rear sway bar, DD 10 inch exhaust, and various other goodies
    The stock black shocks are bottom of the barrel. And those bridgestone tires are too. Nothing a shock and tire upgrade won't help greatly.

    I have a set of 4 of the TRD red with blue cover shocks with 250 miles on them sitting in my garage. Went with 5100's for the lift.
