Not really. I'm watching my 3 year old grandson. Having a good time.... That being said... I do tend to shy away from generic OEM "off road" shocks. First time I've seen Rancho shocks mentioned here on the forum as a viable option. Caught me by surprise.....RS9000's are OK..I guess...:oldglory:

6112 is a solid performance shock, but you can achieve a max of ~2.55” of lift. I’m not sure if the 6112 is re-buildable or not. I checked with a local shock builder source who said he hasn’t had any sent to him to be re-built yet. My guess is it’s so new that there isn’t certainty.

It's a shame that Toyota doesn't put the 6112/5160 setup at the factory for their TRD models, I'm sure customers would pay the extra $!

I think they wanted to, but honestly Bilistein 6112 is so far backordered for their dealers so they went to Fox is my guess.

Do you suggest the Billstein setup is superior to the Fox setup? I’ve never tried either

Fox is ok in my book. I think Bilistein has it more dialed in then Fox, IMO.

Thats what the rep at Bilstien told me when I called and talked about the 6112, he said it was the sweet spot for the Tundra!

FWIW in your case it appears you over extended your shock which is what happens when you put a space lift.

Bump stops would really be a band aid here, you really want longer shocks that pair with your increased suspension travel.

Several good pairs of shocks/coilovers were suggested but even if you retain your space lift and want a new shock make sure its longer than an OEM replacement to account for a 3" lift.

This is why spacer lifts fail, but for a budget option and "green" trails you're fine.

Having an in-coil spacer lift is a cheap option too, that does take a bit longer to install then a standard spacer but ultimately serves as better protection of a top hat spacer IMO.

 Was that due to space lift or did the OEM shock just fail? Either way it looks like someone was Bajaing on a suspension that he shouldn't have been.
