    A torsen (gear driven) LSD requires both wheels to be on the ground. A plated, or clutch driven LSD will work when a wheel is off the ground. This is part of the reason LSDs are not preferred for off-road applications. Either it useless because you're 3 wheeling, or you're having to maintain clutch packs.
