Today I installed sound deadening to the rear doors. All I had time for with work getting in the way.
In the process of removing the passenger side rear door panel I manged to f*** up the tweeter. Busted it up good trying to hold panel and remove the speaker plug connection . The other side slid out fine.
After I knew the tweeter was non repairable I was just going to live with it at some point do a gut and new system all together.
After I got everything all plugged in to test the speakers the same side door spearker is not working. Everything is plugged in except for the busted tweeter plug, no wires were cut, but no sound out of that door speaker.

This has me a bit baffled but I am thinking the non working tweeter is causing the door speaker not to work?

Anyone have a jbl tweeter sitting in a box they would like to get rid of?

Is the tweeter itself jacked up or the plug going into it? Maybe you can grab one out of a junk yard and then use butt connectors to reattach everything. And you sound somewhat lucky, in all four of my door panels the plugs were a PIA to get unhooked while holding up the panel up in the air, a second helper would've been nice for sure but I have been doing all my work at night while the fam sleeps...

The plug is fine its the delicate metal that was glued / soldered to the speaker that is now broke and missing. Good call on junkyard hopefully they don't think they are some high end speaker made of platinum.

Yea when the front doors come off I will definitely get a second set of hands to help.

Pluggeg in busted tweeter and the door speaker works. Going to live with no tweeter in the back for a bit.
