I'm in the process of upgrading my speakers in my crewmax, It's been raining here alot and when I pulled the old rear woofers today they were wet and the interior of the door was very wet but only around the area of the speakers, in the bottom front area of the door,,,

has anybody else encountered this??? I am really leary of putting my new Morels in that situation

Put XTC Foam Speaker baffles behind them, Closed cell foam should keep your speakers dry. get some fiberfill and put that inside the XTC baffle between the magnet and the foam for support to help prevent the collapse of the foam during woofer movement, also will help with acoustics fooling the woofer in to thinking its in a larger enclosure than it is. run your wires out between the basket of the speaker and pinch it between the foam, that way you seal the speaker and dont have any holes in the foam.

Sorry I took so long to get back to this,, Talked to the dealership and they said that some water getting into the door was normal, thats why there are drain holes in the bottom! The front factory speakers had splash guards built into the speaker, I cut these off and glued them to the new alpines up front, I also made some for the rear speakers, everything seamed to go together well. I believe what happened with the leaky rear doors was a combo of my truck being parked in a nose down position during a heavy rain, I also had the inside door panels off so I noticed when water ran down the front window track and into the door.
