Hey guys!...quick question, I’m brand new to lifts, I’ve never lifted any of my trucks in the past, so don’t know much about them...I’ve done a ton of research on my own, and also talked to several guys as well who have been very helpful...who is running the Readylift 4/2?...pros/cons?...I’m really leaning towards that kit, I like the Bilstein route as well, but want a little extra lift...pics would also be great if you’re running this exact kit...it’ll be going on my 2020 Platinum

other question I have is, instead of blocks on the back, can I use shackles to get the 2” lift in the rear?...I’ve been told by a couple guy that blocks aren’t the best idea

I’d also like to know if I can add Bilstein 5160’s to the rear, or if I have to stick to 5100’s

thanks in advance for any and all help!!

    $1000 for a spacer kit...

Get some actual lift shocks that won’t ride like crap.

What tires/wheels do you want? Start from there, because that kit is just chock full of compromises

Extreme angles on the CV’s is the biggest thing and a rough ride. For $1000 you can get a fox 2.0 set up or even 6112 Bilsteins. You can not be at 4” but you can get close to 3” or 3” with some shims.

shackles will be good in the rear I’m running 2” right now.

just research max height those rear shocks can handle 5100s I think are good up to 1” not of lift so just make sure they accommodate the lift you want in the rear

Ok awesome, thanks for the info!...if I do go this route (4/2 Readylift), do I just buy shackles and use them instead of the blocks that come with the lift?...sorry if that’s a stupid question, just trying to make sure I understand it all before making up my mind and pulling trigger...thanks in advance!

Here’s another question which I think I found the answer to, but again I just want to be sure before I pull the trigger on a kit for my truck...if I decide to just go the Toytec or Bilstein route (6112’s in front, 5100/5160’s in rear), can I add anything to get a little extra lift from that set up??...shims or anything like that??

At the cost of the performance of your front suspension you can.

Here is a good test, put a floor jack under the front crossmember and raise it up 3 inches. Do the angles on the control arms and cv’s look healthy? The higher the angle, the worse your ride quality is

Ok, so another question (probably a very dumb one...lol)...if I go with the 4/2 Readylift, can I add either the Bilsteins (6112’s in front and 5100/5160 in rear) to that kit as well to help with ride??

Kind of but you won’t get 4 inches from it as the 6100 maxes out around below that

No worries. Theres a ton of stuff out there. The companies are trying to make money, and everything is a trade off.

Best bet is find pictures of the truck that looks like what you were picturing then get suspension that will fit the desired wheel/tire combo

Decided to go with the 4/2 Readylift...May do shackles in rear instead of blocks, but anyone running this kit, what size wheels are you running?...any trimming with your size?...pics would be awesome

and has anyone changed out their shocks with this 4/2?....thanks in advance!

By the time you find shocks that would properly accommodate the travel of the 4/2 kit, you would be mostly there cost wise for a descent coilover and shackle setup.....and a better ride.

Yea I’m not even sure I’m going to replace them, I’ve talked to several guys running the 4/2 with stock shocks that say ride is perfectly ok with stock, I don’t do a lot of off roading so I’m gonna stick with stocks to start anyway, just trying to see what’s out there in case I wanna switch em out...thanks man!

Ok I’m gonna be installing my 4/2 Readylift SST this week, this may be a stupid question, I know I need to get an alignment done after install, but would it be ok to drive for a couple days in between without doing any harm?...I’m installing kit on Thursday, but may not be able to get truck in for alignment until Monday...thanks in advance!

It will most likely be way out. Mine was with the 3/2. The 4/2 comes with a new UCA doesn't it?

Don't do a spacer kit if you plan to offroad. @Toytec Lifts is where many of us recommend as a starting point.

I think I drove about that long after I did my first lift. Just the less you drive he better. Unless you need an excuse to buy new and bigger tires lol

Ok cool, I am actually changing out the wheels, and most likely going with 33’s or 35’s, love the Ridge Grapplers

I have the RG's in 285/70/18 (34's). They are only about a 1/2 inch smaller than the 295/70 (35's) and 10 pounds per tire lighter. Mine are 59 lbs. Just an additional option for you.
