Not so sure about that statement. I had two (15 and 16) all aluminum F-150s and never had a single issue with the body, paint quality or fit and finish.

Hans did you Line x or rhino your bed on either aluminum f150?

When i had line x do my tundra, a customer called in and asked about having an aluminum trailer sprayed and they said they couldnt do it unless he had it primed else where with lots of self etching primer and that even then they couldnt issue a warranty like what we get because it wont stick right., i found that rather odd considering the paint sticks but i guess whatever the liner is made of just doesnt interact well with aluminum?

No, I did not. I guess you were referring to some body shops not being able to repair aluminum bodies. I am sure that will change in short order since most manufacturers are using aluminum at least to some extent. I also know that the repairs can be more expensive, that is really of no concern to me since I have full coverage insurance.

Had a Rhino liner in my 2015 King Ranch and it was no different then other spray in liners I had before (steel body trucks), price was the same as well. I hope Toyota will use aluminum on the next Tundra.

Except you’ll likely pay more for insurance since your vehicle is more costly to repair in the event of a miner accident (non-total fender bender). I’m not an actuary, so I don’t know for sure, just a guess on my part.

In all reality, the DEF injection, the DPF and SCR are actually good things to have on a diesel; those systems don't hinder performance but keep it clean. Of all the emission equipment on modern diesel engines the EGR system causes more problems then anything else by leaving soot in the intake tract, fouling sensors and contaminating the engine oil with soot.
Despite Toyota's stance on not building a LD diesel truck it would be nice if they follow suit with the big three. An I6 with maybe 3.5L displacement, 270 HP and around 500 FT/LBS torque and an 8-speed HD transmission resulting in 25 MPGs would be on my wish list. I'd be willing to pay an extra 5K for that combo.
