Not that bad of a looking truck. If it were mine, I would raise the rear up and call it a day.

    Nice job!!

Not sure what a carrier bearing drop kit is. Is it something I have to buy or is it already on the truck for the mechanic to adjust?

It's not what I would do with MY truck but I am not you and you aren't me. It looks clean. It is always easy for you to buy new tires and wheels if you ever get tired of the look. I have to give it to you for fortitude. I think you are on the right track for what YOU want and that's all that matters because it's your money. Good luck with your truck.

    You just wait
I would definitely try the drop kit first before the traction bars. They are super easy to install and cheap too

    @JayKay, truck looks great.

Where are you located? Reason I ask is different locations usually trend towards certain looks.
If you were in SoCal or the PNW or the mid-west you'd probably get some sideways looks.
If you're in the south anywhere from the Carolinas to Houston your truck fits right in.
Either way, its your truck and as long as you're happy with it that's all that matters.

Get that shudder gremlin sorted out and you'll be good to go.
As mentioned, I'd check the carrier bearing drop kit first before going with traction bars.
I'd be surprised if an 8" lift kit didn't come with a bearing drop as part of the kit.

Traction bars and a carrier bearing drop kit is the right thing to do. You don't want to be eating up u joints frequently, or worse, snapping them at very inconvenient times and or locations.

I live in Houston and I can tell you that is not the look most people around here go for. The 8” lift and 37s yes but not those size rims. Maybe if they were 18”-20”.

Except every truck that comes out of STR8UP Off Road's shop, plus all the other shops that do the same sort of thing.
I'm from Houston and I know trucks with +24" wheels on big lifts is definitely a thing down there on the 3rd Coast.

Lol whatever you say man. I know I can say it’s not because I currently live here and always have for all 31 years of my life. Now maybe it use to be in the past. I’m not saying there isn’t trucks like that around because I’m sure there is but I wouldn’t say that the look around here.

Itd say it’s more along the coast outside of Houston. Pasadena, La Porte, Seabrook, towards Galveston. People tend to lump all that as Houston.

Now that’s not to say I haven’t seen some dumb looking trucks in Houston:stirthepot:

I’m from Los Angeles but moved to ATL in 2016. I’ve always liked big rims but with some sidewall on trucks. My side wall is a lil low but the next set of tires will have a lil more sidewall if I don’t end up buying new wheels.

I have to check with ReadyLift to see if it came with the drop kit. If anything, the lift shop will install and adjust it. The sad thing is, the lift shop stole my 3/1 leveling kit and gave me back a 1.75/1 leveling kit. So now I really don’t feel good about bringing my truck there.

Is this the carrier bearing drop kit? This is what’s included in the lift kit but not exactly sure where it is to check to see if the lift shop installed it. The color should be black, not red.

Are you sure about that? A 1.75" spacer would net around 3" of front lift.

Yes because I held the 3 inch spacer in my hands so I know for sure someone swapped it out with a 1.75 inch. It was on the truck for a month and the one they gave me was rusted and beat up looking and not even for a Tundra.

They did install the spacer so I guess I’ll have to wait for the traction bars to come in to see if it’ll fix the vibration/shuttering issue I have at acceleration from a stop.

I went with UCF (Up Country Fabrication) for the traction bars with the vanity plate for both front and rear. They custom make it after you pay.

I just remembered, I had a bunch of heavy stuff in the back of the bed when I took this picture is the reason why the rear is lower than the front.
