That's awesome. I ordered one on Monday as well, no word yet on being shipped... maybe soon. Did they send you a shipping email?

Yes they did. Ordered Monday, shipping info sent Tuesday with tracking info from FED EX. Still showing delivery for tomorrow. Be advised I got the aluminum raw skidplate. Might have had more of these in stock.

Lead time are an average so to say. It's safe to say that 4runner's and Tacoma's will have the longest lead times since so many people are ordering for those. Vehicles links Tundra's might be less due to the lower volume. They've seen over 300 orders since Monday morning so don't be surprised by long leads. RCI has always done a great job of stocking up before these start, and I know they did so this time too.

Thank you for the insight! I’m sure it’s tough to gauge lead times during both Covid and a GB. Fingers crossed for early but prepared for late as well, just stoked to have my order in and a discount

Question...for those of you that have the aluminum engine skid plate. Does it make life easier when changing the oil? I do not Offroad so I don’t need the steel or protection per se. Is it even worth me purchasing in my situation...I will appreciate the advice.

Thanks...does it make the oil change that much easier. I hated changing the oil in my 5th gen 4Runner because of removing the skid plate and the cartridge filter. Hence why I am debating whether I should purchase the RCI skid and I know I can’t change the fact that the Tundra has the cartridge filter as well.

It should be alot easier. I just ordered the aluminum myself. I hear you on the 4Runner...we have one too. I would look into getting a skid for your catalytic converters as well....they are getting stolen left and right.

Skidplate just arrived, she's pretty. Question for you guys. I heard they switched to a 1 piece design on these skids but it arrived and is definitely 2 pieces. Did I misread or maybe it's old stock? Regardless though it appears to be a quality skid plate and can't wait for it to warm up so I can toss it on.

I don't mean to argumentive or anything, but the website shows both in the pictures. Also the description does not say 2 piece. I don't know if RCI knows that or not, maybe they could take the one piece pictures off the website. First three pics are from just engine skid plate listing. Powdercoat one is one piece.

    Screenshot_20210212-143013.jpg
    Screenshot_20210212-143035.jpg
Then if you go to engine and trans package there is only one picture of a two piece and that is the oil filter door pic, all others are one piece.

If you only ordered the engine skid you would have ordered it form this page, and screen shots are below. The information your presenting are from the package. While it shouldn't matter much the single skid does state 2 pieces while the package states 1 piece. The package should have been updated to 2 pieces, but seems to have been missed.

    Per website:

...I just placed my order for the engine skid plate so I will see how they come. I am hoping for an easier oil change. My concern is with the width of the oil plug hole... :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed: to having enough room for the oil to drain without making a huge mess.

I have had my RCI plates on for 5 or more oil changes. It's easier than the stock skid.

20210213_091357.jpg Received my raw aluminum skidplate this morning. Excellent customer service and received it three days after ordering. Pretty impressive. Now if only it would warm up outside for install since I don't live where @kuokoa lives.

Edit: This thing is BEEFY. I am glad I didn't go with the TRD skidplate, definitely overpriced compared to this one. A whole lot more coverage too. I can't imagine mounting the steel version, bet that sucker is heavy.

I would add extensions to the tranny skid to cover the cats.
