    So the verdict on the leaf kit is no good. It won't mount to existing holes and the way that I was able to mount it it would've been way too stiff anyway. It also put the axle in a weird bind. I think if you have access to a 3d printer theres some different mounts on thingyverse that would be worth trying. I belive they would work well. I ended up cutting the shock springs to make them softer so we will see if that helps. Unfortunately I fried my transmitter so ill have to wait to see if it works better .

    Well thats a bummer. I cut my springs but it didn't do a whole lot. I gotta experiment and try some different things to get the flex I want

    I started a build from scratch a while back then had trouble with my arthritis and have been on medication every since. I am moving now and downsizing and I just went through everything I have and it is a LOT. Any ideas where I can go to advertise my stuff to sell? I have one that is built and runs fine and the other black one was a custom build from scratch using all brand new parts but never got to the point where it had power applied to it. I have a lot of brand new parts never used.

    Hoping I can get some advice from you all. I have a Redcat Gen 8 Scout ( clean one on the right) that I took up to the mountains last year and when i turned it on it took off in forward than wouldn't work after that. I checked all my batteries and everything is good. This thing has never been in deep water nor have I messed with any of the electronics. The esc beeps twice for the 2 cell lipo battery than does a continuous fast flash. I went through the manual for the esc but nothing works. I tried binding it as well with no result. Anything else I can try? I do have a Gen 7 Pro which looks like it has the same electronic parts I can swap but not sure where to start20210117_142518.jpg

    Hey MS22. I have a gen8 as well. You did all the right troubleshooting. It sounds like the esc is dead. Redcat is really good about warranty claims so email them with a video. Just to be sure it’s not the motor test the dc voltage on the motor while giving it throttle and see if the esc is sending voltage to the motor. If it is then it’s your motor. If you are close to me in Colorado we could actually try my esc. My neighbor has one as well that has a damaged front axle and may be willing to part with his esc if redcat does not warranty it. I believe the gen7 uses the same esc as well but will have to check.

    Thanks for the info. The Gen 7 does have the same esc but the previous changed the battery plugs which is no big deal since I have batteries for it. Im not too familiar with these so didn't know where to start. I will try what you suggested about checking the voltage to the motor. Thanks for the offer about the esc :thumbsup:

    Picked up a 1/16 traxxas slash. I have a feeling this is going to be a gateway..

    My daughter wanted an RC car. Tried an Amazon one, total junk but she was into it.

    so i bought her a traxxas Teton monster truck. 4wd, perfect little car for a 7 year old to learn with. She is jumping it and having a blast!

    so dad went out and had to get a toy too! Got myself a Slash 2wd, OMG this thing is just FUN.

    Love the Axial products ... they are so good out of the box. The RC4WD stuff is overpriced junk by comparison ... awesome scale details, but the quality isn't stellar. The ARRMA Infraction is just ridiculous ... 64mph out of the box on 6S - haven't even tried the high-speed spur gear yet.

    Can you guys recommend anything for my son who’s only 4-5 that’s in the $100ish ?

    we bought him that cheap gravedigger and he likes it, it fine around the house on flat surface but it won’t even go out in the grass it slightest incline it doesn’t have any power. Not unexpected for 30 bucks. He likes trucks so some sort of truck would be cool for both of us

    don’t want to get into the 200+ type deal at this point, it doesn’t have to go like a raped ape

    thanks

    I bought my 5 year old this. Got it for 60 bucks on BF and he loves it. Not as fast as my traxxas slash but hes having fun.

    Look at nitrorcx.com their products (Exceed brand) aren't as great as traxxas, hpi, team losi, but they are a great starting point. I have a few of their vehicles and they are affordable and will last. Would be a good gateway to get into the hobby.

    @Breathing Borla

    The Traxxas Teton is real
    Theres a few cars in the 120$ price range. Traxxas teton/latrax or losi mini T. They aren’t huge but he may have lots of fun. The ARRMA voltage was sold out when I was buying, i would have gotten that for my kid if i could
