The stampede is narrow and tips over often. How old is she?

8…that is also a fear of mine. She enjoys little jumps the most. The rustler looks to be the most stable. She drives the hell out of my slash but she wants more of a “monster truck” look

I ran Stampede wheels and tires on my Slash with a truck body. That is an option as well.

When I ran giant tires on my rustler it was fun but rolled a lot if I turned with any sort of speed. There may be a way around that, I only tried it a few times and went back to regular tires. I loved sailing that thing through the air way too much.

Nothing rolls over like a slash stock chassis. Just looking at it puts it on its side

My girlfriend wanted a rock crawler to keep up with my bomber, so now we have a Capra :D

My favorite RCs at the moment are the scx-24s, for $200 including buying it you can have a super pimped out and portable little toy. I love them :D

Have you added the brass weights to the hubs? My brother did on his and its way more stable now. I'm gonna have to copy him or maybe do the brass axle extensions.

Oh yea, straight out of the box the Capra outdoes the bomber, and the Capra stock has 4.6" tires vs the 5.5s on the bomber. She didn't like the stock tires so we got these ones which are about the same as the bombers tires, we haven't taken it to any rocks yet but just playing in the yard on some bricks she can crawl stuff without trying that the bomber has no hope of without hitting it at speed. I'd like to make the Capra rear steer in the future, but out of the box it's amazing.

We ordered some, got lost in the mail, so bought some knuckles and diff covers at the hobby store on Wednesday but haven't installed them yet. I didn't know there were axle extensions, I'll have to look at those. Mine looks pretty dumb with how huge the tires are and how narrow it is. I'd like to get/build a little tube chassis for it, but the truggy look isn't bad.

I didn't know which you were talking about :D in that regard yes too, the big buggy is waiting on it's new motor to be bored out from the machine shop, so any crawling is more than it's seeing so she wins there too

First attempt at leaf helpers has the front bracket too far forward.using preexisting holes. I can fix that, but 1 leaf wont be enough. Ill need a stack.

Does the trail honcho qualify as a first gen tundra? Pretty close. I’d be willing to build a model of a planned tent/toolbox on a flatbed.

anyone know somewhere to go to for tundra grille and light stickers?

I don't doubt that it could be done. and iv'e tried looking. but the best option I could come up with was to find a 3d model of a first gen and make a 3d printerd mold then vacuum form a body. I have the cad skills for it but thats it no tools or scanner

There are kits on Amazon for it. I think I'm gonna order one today, its $18. Its a bit less weight than the kit my brother got but that still should help.

i had to put on my aggressive tires and drive like a madman to keep up in the hairy stuff, but his flat-out walking-trail top-speed was slower.

This feels a little like cheating. But it’ll be so much easier than richarding with leaf springs.

Needs stiffer front springs, and maybe a swaybar.
    BAC0EBE9-D604-472B-9BE9-F2765BE5A9BF.jpg
i could make a plate that uses the rear body mount bosses and clips to the diff. Hard limit the travel, but its pretty unstable as it is with soft springs, the plate might have to clip to the lower link mounts.

Ordered the weighted axle extensions for my scx24 today, hopefully they will arrive tomorrow. If they're good I will post the link.

While browsing I noticed somebody copied my patented Salsa Verde wheel!
