The only con to the LCG kit I can think of is if you run at all stock class races. They might not allow it, but since Traxxas releases them stock now on some models it might be fine.

I went ahead and did the conversion. It was worth doing. Your steering servo will take a while to get dialed in but other than that it was a pretty easy swap. I wish the black one was available back then, I got the bright blue and don't like the color.

Yeah the blue color is the only downside to the LCG kit. I did mine too, it drives way faster in the dirt since you can slide all over the place, super fun. Still just rolls over on the street tho!

I had (still have but its busted) a Rustled VXL. It was far superior when hitting jumps but I like driving the Slash more. The 2wd just forces you to drive with finesse. The LCG is so worth doing. Theyre only like $25.

I do miss jumping the Rustler. I could seriously send it 30+ feet and control the pitch in the air. The Slash doesn't have as much control in the air because the body is a damn parachute.

I'm running pro line Trenchers. They're pretty good in dirt and they do well on grass for me. On street they're grippy enough to roll you if you aren't careful but you can still do burn outs.
    20210604_160524.jpg 20210604_160515.jpg

I tried Jconcepts short course goosebumps before and they were surprisingly grippy on dirt but they wore out very fast. If I was racing they'd be on my mind but for general bashing they wear too fast.

I also have sand paddles for hitting the beach. They're worth having if you're ever on real sand.

What sand paddles you got? Going to Baja and thinking of taking a car, even tho I hear cleaning it up later is a nightmare

The trenchers are so good in the hard dirt that even a brushed slash is noticeably faster due to the increased traction. I love them

I believe its these ones, you can find them cheaper I'm sure. I have run my truck at a few beaches and they absolutely transform your slash. At Zuma Beach I got lucky one day and there were big sand mounds, I was launching hard knowing there is no impact on the landing.

I ended up doing the LCG on the Slash tonight.

I was in PA this past weekend racing on a backyard track with a few friends. My buddy had a brand new SC10 pro, I could not stick with that truck for more than a lap or 2. Suspension adjustments, dialed back power, etc....I just couldn't hang. I consider myself a better driver than him.

It was evident the LCG of the SC10 was just keeping it glued through corners. The slash was getting unsettled frequently.

I'm interested to see how it does now.

I'm hopeful. I ran the SC10 for a little while and I was blown away.
The Slash should come with the LCG. I just don't see how it can compare to the SC10 in stock form.

First thing I would do is swap those springs for linear. Those springs are progressive and super soft. You'll get rid of a lot of body roll and get more stable with the right linear springs. Get a few different colors (hardness) so you can experiment.

My brother is a cheap bastard so for fathers day I got him an Axial 24 and we had a battle in moms back yard.

Unfortunately I couldn't find my charger, he didn't bring his charger, so my battle was short lived. Also Unfortunately he cheated and installed brass weights on his hubs for better stability. I still could climb the dirt hill better but he could balance better over obstacles.

No pics of the battle unfortunately, phone was also dead. I'm gonna order a new charger and the same weights kit and will get pics of round 2.

They are well worth it! They're as durable as can be, and only need minimal mods to ensure tons of break-free runs.

Don't let a kid out smart you.
Last weekend was my birthday and I was lucky enough to get a sweet new SCX10 II. So I've spent the last week swapping over most of the parts on my old SCX 1.5 (has an scx10 2 axle upgrade.) to the new chassis and vise versa. the swap was pretty painless and I'm super stoked on the new body. Just need to get some longer metal links for the rear, but I'm actually impressed with the strength of the plastic ones waaaayyy stronger than the ones that come on the old trucks.

i have a problem with R/C cars. love racing and haven't done much since covid. Here are just a few of the many cars I've had.

My current line up is a Tekno eb410, B61.d and B6.1c. The TLR and stadium trucks have been sold.

Here are a few pictures from random events I've raced here in California

Being in San Luis Obispo i dont really have any local tracks so a 2 hour drive is a must. I have been to Channel Islands, Thunder Alley, Revelation, and OCRC as well. Just the drive to San Jose or Bakersfield is shorter and easier (less traffic) for me. Plus one of my best friends lives in Redwood city so we it's nice going up and seeing him.

box stock vaterra was better than my buddies trail honcho, so he bought a trx4 sport that makes me think portal axles is cheating. The vaterra will do about 7 miles on a 4600mah zeep, his trx4 did almost 10 miles, but i dont remember what his battery is.
