Has anyone ever gotten to the bottom of this noise?. It's happening to my '15 Tundra. It's definitely oil valve train related.

Mine has not done it in a while now. By while I mean at least 2 years or more. Some thought it might have been an Air conditioner deal, but who knows?

    Too many, but not enough....
use thicker oil. I went to 5w-30 and its super quiet now. Its just a noisy valvetrain with thin oil most of the time.

Ok thanks for the reassurance, that's kinda what I was leaning towards. It's definitely not an A/C thing.

It’s your timing chain rattling until tensioner pressure builds. Common after sitting for a while when the pressure bleeds down.

    Nothing to worry about

question is should we be replacing these, mine has 131k does it (usually sits a week or 2 at a time not a main vehicle)
