I've seen this book and it has been out for A LONG TIME.

Has anyone ever seen the similar book written regarding The Ford Way? The Dodge Way? The mf'n Ram Way?

The trade in I got for my Tacoma I could have bought a ram almost even and it was eight years old. Never been to the shop.

I did study this a little bit. The person that came up with the ideological method to Total Quality Management (TQM) was rejected by the American auto-makers and many others here in the USA. So he took his idea to Japan after WW2 and helped restart their factories with 'continuous improvement'.

Even to this day any decent company quality statement will contain the words "continuous improvement ". Ours does.

Have you seen how ugly the new Silverado is in person? That thing is freaking weird looking. It does not resemble the Silverado I’ve always known. In the past when you saw them you always knew that was a Silverado or Sierra. Now it looks like a slightly bigger version of the Colorado with even uglier features.

I traded a 2016 Tacoma Limited for a 2016 RAM. I was soooo disappointed in the Tacoma, that’s another story for another thread...the Ram stickered for $52k. It was the Sport trim with leather, heated and cooled seats, large display, etc. The truck had been sitting on the lot since that April 2016, it was November. I got it for $38k.

The Ram was very comfortable, plenty of power and great gas mileage for a truck. It was trouble free the time I had it...15 months. For some stupid a$$ reason I convinced myself that I didn’t need a truck and traded it for a BMW 535 M-Sport. Well a year went by and then I realized “fool” you do have a need for a truck! So I found a 2005 Tundra X-SP with 94K in great shape for $9800. I kept my BMW, but I rarely drive it because it doesn’t have the “durable feel” like my old Tundra!!!!

So yeah the RAMs are nice, the new ones and the design I had but, when I wanted a dependable used truck I went back to Toyota. I sure as hell wasn't looking for a 2005 Dodge....oh no!!!!

Personally, I think this is great news. Maybe it will light a fire under Toyota to finally put enough resources on the next gen Tundra to get it to market.

It clearly hasn't been a priority for them before now.

Maybe they'll add on a few more real off-road features ( true LSD/lockers) and cab/bed configurations (crewmax w/ 6.5' bed) to make up for lost time.:fingerscrossed:

I thought they had supposedly fixed the auto trans reliability on the Ram? Guess not. I’ve never had a Dodge or a Ram, but I’ve heard many horror stories about their auto trannies. Their manual trannies supposedly hold up, though.

The Toyota purists in these threads crack me up. It's like you guys can't believe that people might actually have different tastes in vehicles. The Tundra is a 12 year old platform with worst in class fuel economy. The average person shopping for a new truck likely isn't going to be excited about the Tundra, at all. For a lot of people, it's not even good looking. Hell, half of you end up spending a ridiculous amount of money to swap out grills and door handles just to make them look halfway decent.

Then you have people giving out anecdotal evidence to back up their claims such as their "neighbor/coworker/cousin" having issues. Here's the deal, there are a lot of people that buy Ford's and Dodge's and love them. For every person that has something negative to say there is someone else like my brother that has 300K miles on his F150. I personally have several friends that love their non-Toyota trucks.

Not everyone is going to agree on what looks or drives the best. Thank god we have a variety of vehicles to choose from this day and age.

It's one thing having it written in your qc statement; total different thing how you implement it. Toyota actually practice what they preach.
