I just got lucky and got a phone call saying he’d sell me the truck cheap.

Clean title and all. 7k into it with all the work, maintenance and upgrades.

The last one my uncle was doing was a 1932-1934 pick up , he uses fibreglass in restomodding them . Chopped the top about 6” . My other uncle just got finished a 1967 Mustang , he only uses metal that he shapes into what he wants .

There was a time when I considered a Rebel. It was mainly due to me wanting a TRD Pro and not wanting to pay the price. Wife finally got tired of me pointing out Pros on the road and said “for Christ sake just buy one already”

Indeed it is, but since it's a ford and never going to run, it is a really expensive storage shed...:notsure:

Honestly, I wish it came stock with something similar to what ESP makes, or a big bin like what my '03 Ram crew cab had. I had so much stuff under that seat. Still, there are options to add it from ESP, and several members have DIYed solutions too.

The Tacoma has underseat bins and behind the seat storage. Just one of those and I’m happy. I shouldn’t have to cut into my carpet for storage though

I agree. The double cab has underseat storage as well. It's silly that they didn't do it for the CM. Still, I love that roll down window and the cavernous space it provides.

I wonder if the reclining mechanism for the CM seats negates the storage. I only fit a snow brush under there.

Nice Rebel, im in Ontario too and Rams are super popular, that more stock Quad cab you see all over the place especially in black. Ive heard of a few RAM drivers having serious issues, trannys for the Cummins, but come to think of it, theyre all terrible to their trucks. A couple years of abuse would do it to any vehicle. A few of them opted out and got other domestics. Hopefully your truck doesnt give you issues. They need more colours, its as if its a throw back to the model T.

Current Crewmax trucks don't have reclining seats. They polled customers and the majority said they'd rather have a fold up seat bottom than the slide and recline. Took it out a few years ago.

The Cummins is super torquey and dodge/ram have always had issues with the transmissions they use on them. They've always just gone for adequate rather than built up transmissions, so any lead foot or heavy heavy use would eat up the tranny.

Need more info on the Rebel for a comparison. You can get a 2WD, quad cab (smaller than the crew cab from ram) with really basic options, no tow package, and a V6. Just being a Rebel doesn't make it an apples to apples comparison.

Ah thats right. Mine slide and recline but can only fold down. Folding up would likely be better. I'll take the rear window, i use it all the time.

Now, I just did a build and price on a Rebel and a Pro, and I only selected things on the Rebel to get the same features a Pro has automatically. The one exception is the sunroof. I didn't add it to the Rebel, and it is standard on the Pro. I made both the larger cab because that is the more popular/common option. These are MSRPs, so the Ram will likely be cheaper, but I don't know how much cheaper. I highly doubt you can get all the options on this build for 31k. Just sayin'.

Here is one in SLC that is close to what I built, and this is the lowest priced Crew Cab Rebel per AutoTrader. Yes, it will be cheaper than the Pro, but it's not 31k on the best day of the week during a pandemic induced buyer's market. You might get this out the door at 40k, but nowhere near the 31k mentioned in the thread up above.

One thing the Rebel gets that a Pro does not is the locking rear axle. Not a major thing for me, but I know it's an advantage.

Ahhhhh. It makes sense now. Used to used, the Rebel will be WAY cheaper. No gas truck will hold it's value like the Toyota, so if you are shopping used and looking for the lowest OTD total then any of the Big 3 will be cheaper than a Tundra.

If you have them handy, would you mind posting a link for the listings on both trucks? I like window shopping vehicles, so I'd appreciate it.

Quad cab knocks the price down a little as well.
