That is good to know. If you can, go for the magnet. That will help in the long run for sure!

ETA: That is a nice looking car. How does it compare to say the GT 500?

I'm running into more and more people who simply stopped drinking these days. Just seems more common than ever. I just quit around two years ago. Now my party drink of choice is Spindrift lol

I'll have to look at that. Right now I am not ready to do a whole lot. Got to pay it off and free up some money.

One quick thing I want to do is put a light bar. Below the grill guard, and below the grill on the Ram there is a space. I am thinking I can mount the light bar there, run the wire up and into the engine bay. Then hook up. Will do that when it warms up.

This will add about 12K lumens for when I am hunting.

Congrats. That is a major accomplishment! Is a Spindrift like an Odoul's? I don't know, I have never heard of them.

I came from part of a family that the national past-time was can opening events. For most of them, the only real estate they owned was what was on the top of a bottle.

So from a very young age, I was already adverse to drinking because I saw what it did to them. Yes, I had a few sips here and there, of several different things, it wasn't anything that I could get past the first sip. Got sick.

Now I am older, I am thankful for that, because I can honestly say I have never been drunk, nor have I ever "drank".

looks like my old truck before I threw the wallet at it. Loved the power wagon so much!

Only thing I hated was the vertical tesla style screen and the shift knob lol

That looks pretty awesome! Why did you get rid of it?

The screen's they put in now do bother me as well. Thankfully I have not had those yet. Can they be replaced with something else? Or is the truck tied into that screen? I am thinking some kind of retro refit. Not that my present truck has a screen, but just thinking.

Here is another question that I have not found an answer for.

I have, in the bed, the connections for a 5th wheel, like would be found by the tow hitch.

According to some of the trucks, and mine may have it, I have to do some more looking, but it seems there is a bigger alternator (400 W or so). But, is there a setup that allows someone to pull their camper, and then instead of running solar power, or generators, or the such, they can plug the camper into this power source in the bed and run the camper boondocking?

I know it will hit the battery, but I have a factory solar panel on the camper now and it does a great job with the camper battery. I can run my fridge for about three days off the camper battery alone. I want to see if I can get more juice to the rest of the camper and not have to carry any other or put out a major expense on any other option. Thanks.

I got rid of it because the ram boxes and the fuel economy. At the time I was commuting a lot and she was drinking fuel like crazy. And then the ram boxes really limited my ability to do a camper shell or camper buildout.

it was an awesome truck and I didn’t have any issues with it. Loved the power and funny enough my tundra got worse MPG on 35’s than the ram did on 37’s

They are thirsty, and that makes sense.

Interesting on the Gas Mileage, especially with the bigger tires.

Are they that limiting, or if you are not using the camper shell, are the Ram Boxes worth it? Mine doesn't have it, as you can see in the pic, I have just the tool box.

    Good looking truck!

The one I looked at didn't have the full 12" screen. It has the 8 or 9 whatever they have.
I think the shift knob is kinda week, too, haha. I love the Tundra shifter.

That would be the way to go- the smaller one performs a bit better. But I am a snob for no bench seat in the front so I had to just deal with the big screen.

I can saying having had both a 21 power wagon (pictured) and a 21 tundra, the tundra is a superior truck in most regards. I have wheeled both of them in Moab, driven them both on multi state trips, took them both hunting and daily drove them both. I would pick the tundra 9 out of 10 times. The ram is great if you need a 2500... but since its a coil rear- its terrible for towing and the payload is very low. I wish ram did a power wagon in a 1500- that would be my perfect truck. Although I guess they did with the gladiator... of which I also owned ha

I never started. I've had alcohol twice in my life.

A sip of Dad's budweiser when I was like 4. I asked him what it tasted like, so he opened a new bottle and handed it to me and said "give it a taste and see what you think." I took a mouthful in, coughed, gagged and dropped the bottle while spitting it out. It shattered on the floor and Dad just laughed and laughed. The dog lapped up a lot of it.

Next time I was about 12. I was riding with my Mom out to the lake and she had me fetch her a wine cooler out of the cooler in the back of the suburban. When I handed it to her I asked if I could have one, she said yes. It was gross but I didn't want to get in trouble for wasting, so I gagged down half of it before I felt too sick to continue.

Those represent the two absolutely most positive experiences I've ever had whenever alcohol was involved. The majority of my life has been plagued by everyone else drinking and causing problems. I despise it and don't go to gatherings when it's going to be involved. It's had a side effect of keeping my social circle very small.

For all that, and my hatred of it, I still get tempted to drink. It's a struggle not to and it's a fear of falling into a bottle and never coming out that has led me to avoid being around it at all costs. That, and it sucks being around drunk people when you are sober.

Yeah. I had a few sips of several things. Was always polite, but yeck!!!!

That was never a temptation, and I am thankful for that. My struggle is Soft Drinks.

Interesting take on that. Ive had 6 trucks with the 12" screen and not one single issue. The PW had a software glitch that was solved by an OTA update, but the radio functioned fine it just popped up a message every now and then. Im new to the Tundra but wheeled the PW a few times and its flawless if you can manage a large vehicle. But yes, the payload is not ideal which is an inherent part of the PW are the soft springs. This can be changed with Carli's R2 springs or Thurens HD springs. Man, I miss that PW. Only reason I didnt buy a tradesman power wagon was my fear of lifter issues again. I loved that truck... The Ram 1500 has an excellent cab and features. But the cracking exhaust manifolds, leaking rear window assembly and 3rd brake light AND their lifter issues as well, thats a strong no for me. I also had a lifted, geared max tow Gladiator sport that was a great little truck but unfortunately, too small for two youngins.

I figured off-roading would be slightly easier in the Tundra due to the length. But thought the factory lockers, solid axle front, sway bar disconnect etc would ultimately get you more places, if you fit. Of course size comes into play in the Tundra, too. It's no slim, trim bikini model itself. The Wrangler will smoke both in off-road capabilities.

In all reality, I (we) have no need real for a PW. And the Tundra nor the Wrangler will going anywhere. But, that PW was pretty badass, for sure.

Agreed on all fronts. In my experience, the solid front axle got me into trouble because it got me places the PW was too big to be. I am the first to always say full size rigs are not too big for most trails and I have the pin stripes to prove it on every rig lol- BUT, the PW found it self in some interesting places for sure at that 2500 size

Yes, the Tacoma, for as small as it is, is the better off road.

Have you seen the YouTube channel, The Story Till Now? He has a Jeep, and several friends have the bigger trucks, but when he is with them, they seem to be a bit more picky on where they go. I figure it is because the size of the rigs in question.

I would not overland or off road in my 2500. I would prefer a smaller, more nimble truck.

Before we bought the Wrangler we checked out the Gladiator. I couldn't get over the drivers seat not going far enough back. I'm 6'2, so not even crazy tall. But it wasn't comfortable for me. My wife is 6ft. It didn't bother her as much, but still.

Another man of many trucks- love it. Digging that new tundra- great choice. I had a lot of software issues in my RAM- I think its probably unit to unit rolling the dice tbh. The PW was amazing to wheel no doubt, but the tundra did all the exact same stuff with no issues and I was not locked at all. The ram was big enough that it just drove over everything. Im currently in a Raptor which I am thoroughly enjoying so far

I am about middle between the both of you for height at 6' 4".

One good thing: I can make a very, very long case as to why I HAVE to buy the bigger vehicle to my wife!!!!

Im considering a Gen 1 Raptor myself. I bought this LSK truck on a whim cause it was a great deal and its wayyyy more than I need. If I decide to dump it, Gen 1 Raptor is on the short list.

the LSK kit is awesome- you made a solid choice as long as the fab guys who put it together know what they are doing. I went with a Gen 3 because Gen 1 pricing around me is absurd and I wanted the linked rear

Would the Gen 1 be because of the different power plant? People wanting the bigger engine?

It’s like LaCroix but instead of questionable chemicals masquerading as “natural flavors”, it just has a bit of actual fruit juice. I like simple things with very few ingredients.
Dude you have had every truck!
Also due to turn radius. The Tundra may be wide like a fullsize but it drives much smaller than it is (at least the 2nd gen…still best in the segment). Extremely short front nose helps, too. All those PW offroad goodies don’t change the manueverability of an HD truck.
I remember watching some YouTube video of a power wagon and a Tundra off-roading on some trails, and everyone was commenting that the power wagon was so great offroad, but the video clearly showed the Tundra with 35s going all the same places lol

The only thing I want to add.... is We have a F-450, Explorer, F-150 and the bronco. I am wishing I went dodge 4500 instead of F-450 since my 2022 F450 with 18k on it is sitting in the dealership with a potential Cp4 failure. The first dealer already started the "Well if this is bad fuel it won't be warranty tune."
