    Neither!

You need a Mack. Then you can drive around staring at the same bulldog's butthole.

You are welcome, and yes, I will be switching when the Hurricane motor drops in the Ram. My wife drives the Tundra, and I’m either driving my work Ram or my Jeep SRT. So I’m luckily not needing a new truck, and can wait.

I almost switched to a Ram half ton a year or so ago when they were offering me $50K for my Platinum Tundra. But it’s paid for and I had just put TRD Pro Fox shocks on it, and didn’t want to pay the extra $20K to get the Ram that I wanted.

Once they announced the Hurricane, and seeing how it is performing in the Grand Wagoneer vs the SRT 392 (which I love in my 2020 Jeep SRT, and my previous 2014 Jeep SRT), it is simply a waiting game now. Also would love to see them incorporate a hybrid system to it.

An INCLUDED hybrid system would be popular.

I should’ve mentioned that one of my buddies drives a 2009 LMM Sierra 2500. He bought it new and has 170k on the clock. Still on the original serpentine belt and brake rotors and pads. Crazy. That truck’s interior rattles down the road like a tin can, like every GM product I’ve ever driven, but it has served him well. He did a full delete and mild tune. It’ll get 21mpg on the highway, and it gets up and goes when he puts his foot into it.

If I didn’t think that the powers that be are trying to kill off private diesel vehicles for good, I would strongly consider a clean LMM Sierra if I needed to go HD.

Re. the Hurricane, I have absolutely zero interest whatsoever. It’s another example of a new, high tech engine that all the auto publications are salivating over as it twists itself in knots to satisfy EPA regs. Do the performance numbers look great? Sure. But how long will it last? How much use would I get out of it? How much excess value is lost when the warranty is up? They bragged about their Plasma Transfer Wire Arc tech saving 3 lbs per engine block. Lololol. Plus, “exhaust manifold integral to the cylinder head”? Ehhh, no thanks.

Seems that people forget quickly that 5th gen Ram still leads the segment in buybacks. There’s a link somewhere on this forum.

Are you having a stroke or is this some type of social experiment?

And why does the text show up correctly only when I quote you?

I think what I'm gathering here is that when looking at buying a new truck... Don't. They're all trash.

Based on my personal experience, if I wasn't in a Tundra then I'd be in a GMC or a Chevy. Both brands have been as reliable as a domestic truck can be, both the ones I've personally owned and the ones I've used for work. A few issues here and there, but nothing that wasn't fixed quickly or that required long amounts of downtime. If I had to eliminate Toyota, GMC and Chevy then I guess I'd be driving a Nissan.

RAM and especially Ford aren't even on the "remote possibility" list. They may as well not exist in terms of the chances of me buying one. Owned both, nothing but horrible things to say about Ford and RAM wasn't much better. I have and do use both at work too, neither last long before they're in the shop.

    Dunno, saw this one today.
If based on appearance alone, this would be enough to choose RAM for me.

Same here never thought of a Ram as reliable but after owning my truck for almost two years and 20k miles I have zero complaints. Its never been in any shop for any repairs I will be taking it in to have a minor recall for the tail gate here soon but so far I am very happy and look forward to seeing how she holds up over the nxt few years

Hate to have to agree with you but this 3rd Gen is quite embarrassing. With the hideous monstrosity of a grill to the Yugoesque build quality I too am looking at the Ram.

I work in an automotive repair shop…Chrysler, Jeep, Ram is all garbage. GM is right behind them. I’d never buy anything domestic ever again. They all sold us out decades ago. I only recommend Toyota, Honda, Nissan Frontier or Titan to my customers if they ask.
