    Piggy backing off this thread

Anyone know if there was a block heater option for our engines? I've read that they either do not exist, always exist, or exist most of the time at Canadian dealers only?

My climate does not really warrant a block heater but having a toasty engine when its 15 degrees out would be pretty nice some days.

Looks nice. Climate Change here and 5 degrees by 8AM in the morning: Things definitely become sluggish :)

Same boat here. I’d like to install one, but finding one, even oem has been tough

I’m up north with an Hybrid Limited and have experienced my power folding mirrors stuck- iced wedged several times. After several times, I know have the control switch push down-forward so they stay open. I will probably switch back to auto folding durning warm months. No issues with wipers, I let it run for 10-15mins prior, defrost does the job. But yes with heavy use of the defrost, chips turn to cracks fast up here…once you get a chip, better get it filled asap otherwise get ready for cracks which results in windshield replacement prior to next state inspection.

It's fine to idle for 30 seconds and leave as long as you aren't putting any load on the engine. As long as you can see out your windows, you should be fine. I don't fold my mirrors in, so I have no experience with them freezing. I don't actually run the defroster until I'm driving, though. Instead, I run the air to recirculate. I think it warms the cabin faster.
