    Hi Guys,

I am considering upgrading the speakers in my Tundra and I figure that while I have the panels off, I may as well add some sound deadening material to the doors.

There seem to be countless manufacturers out there. I am looking for a high quality product that won't break the bank.

Also, I live in the deep south and temps inside vehicles can get incredibly high. I have heard that some products can separate from the metal due to the extreme temps (adhesive melting). I want to avoid this possibility at any cost. If this is a real phenomenon, please steer me away from those brands.

Thanks very much for your feedback.

Not sure on the high heat. With my Tacoma I researched top brands and pricing and ended up going with Raamatt. www.raamaudio.com

Did you install it yourself? Are you pleased with it?

I pulled up their website....looks like it has a 250 degree F rating.

Yes I did install myself. Whole back half of the Tacoma. It quieted the cab down so much from road noise. Also made the rear doors more solid when closing.

Bottom layer is kind of a sticky heavy clay feeling material with aluminum foil on top. The top layer is a thin foam with adhesive.

I went with noico off Amazon. Ended up putting one panel on the interior door skin behind each speaker.

I did dynamat throughout with some dynaliner. Look into soundskin, it is pricy, but has great reviews

Noico off Amazon. Waiting for warm temps to install. I researched all the brand's and noico was rated 2nd behind Dynamat but costs about half as much.

I've used Stinger Roadkill in the past & seemed to be pretty decent. There are so many dampeners to chose from now.

other options: second skin, sound deadener showdown, and sound skins. i'll probably be going with sound skins. tech12volts has pretty decent pricing and i'll be getting a few other things from him at the same time. also, sound skins is supposed to be coming out with templates for the tundra. should make the install a bit easier.

How much Noico would be needed to do the area behind the back seats of a 2016 Crewmax?

How much of a difference do insulating our trucks makes as far road noise goes?

Raamat. Easy, effective. Not too expensive. The foil can cut you if you're not careful.

I used Kilmat. got 50 square feet of Ebay for like 65$ish shipped. Did all four doors on a 17 DC and the entire back wall to way under the seats. and still have 8 or 9 sheets left. Works great. almost completely killed the road noise. Amazon carries it for about the same price

Absolutely. In my opinion the more you use the better your result. Minimum do the doors and behind the rear seat. I did the floor and roof as well. My doors closing sound like a vault after the rammat.

Not every sq inch needs to be covered however. Larger surfaces will get you the best bang for your buck.

    Flux capacitor!
I did the cab, doors, behind rear seat & the roof with Dynamat Extreme on my previous 2015 Tundra. It made a considerable difference on how quiet the cab was. It also keep more of my music inside the truck and a lot quieter on the outside. I purchase three if he bulk kits on Amazon. It was the cheapest option but worth the money IMO.

Like @1UPPER, I went thru 3 bulk boxes, did inside and outside faces of the doors, back wall and floor.

Make sure you get a couple different rollers. It really does help it stick and stay.

    I have the double cab.

Wil 40 sq ft be enough for the doors only?
