I'm in the midst of upgrading my head unit, amp, speakers and sub in my truck.

Essentially yanking everything out and replacing with other gear. My new setup won't use the center and 2 dash speakers. Do I have to disconnect those speakers?

My new head unit AVIC-W8400NEX will be running to a new 5 channel amp. I'm in the midst of installing the rear door speakers, front new cross overs and subs. Just not clear if I have to physically disconnect the center and two front speakers in the dash. I don't want to use them, but not sure if they will still get sound via the harness or not...

    Thanks in advance,

I just upgraded all of my speakers to Infinity. I installed my tweeters in the stock dash location. I unplugged the center speaker and havn’t looked back. The quality of the factory center speaker is not good. Quality replacement speakers in the front and rear with an amp driving them will be more than sufficient for your truck...no center speaker needed.

Yes you will need to physically remove them, pop off the grill covers (one tab out of 4 will likely break on the dash tweeter locations, don't freak they pop back in with just 3 no problem) use socket wrench to remove the speaker harness, unplug and remove, takes 5-10 min.

Thank you. Hoping to do that this weekend. I have one more door to complete before moving on to the amp.
