Are the upper control arms on a trd Pro model truck the same as any other trim Tundra?

My dealer had a helll of a time aligning mine after I leveled it with the middle notch on Bilstein 5100s.

I purchased a set of TRD pro’s from a guy who went BDS. He gave me all his front end parts. The UCA’s looked exactly the same to me. I haven’t read anywhere that they are different. Could be wrong but I’m 99.9% sure 21’s and older are all the same.

Yes they are the same on the pro. I went from stock platinum suspension to The Fox TRD pro set up. Plus i added a 1/4 inch coachbuilder shim up front for 2.5 inches of lift and mine aligned perfectly.

Congrats! Did the same with my Platinum. Was wanting the Fox Pro shocks, but tried to be cheap with Falcon shocks. Falcon had a blown front shock in under 5K miles, and I didn’t like the ride.

Got the Fox Pro shocks from TRDSparks, and absolutely LOVE the way it rides now.

Same. I put the fox Trd pro shocks for my platinum from Sparks Parts. I wish I’d done it day one. Night and day difference.

I would guess its different. Sequoia's have coil spring rear suspension.

Looks sweet! My shocks are on order now from Sparks. Looking forward to getting them soon hopefully. Just bought some TRD Off Road wheels and paired them with Open Countrys load range C tires. Id like the TRD skid, but I have full RCI skids.

Did you have a shop install the coilovers or did you do it yourself? It doesn't look like it's that hard to do, but I don't have a lift--just jackstands.

I did confirm with Fox before buying that they are rebuildable.

Tempted to pull the trigger and get the TRD pro suspension too. Been waiting for awhile to see if Bilstein 6112 will be back in stock. I don't think they will ever be back in stock.

I was in the same boat. Did the rears myself and asked my mechanic if he could do the fronts. Charged me $300 and he was done in a couple of hours. I went for a mountain bike ride. We’ll worth it to me, lol.

Go for the TRD Pro Fox's. I waited for two months and that was back in December/Jan for the 6112's. Pro's were more but they were in stock. Made the decision easy for me!

On that shot under the front, I recognize the sway bar, but what are the red items poking out on each side? Hooks, brackets, etc?

Got mine today, however one of the rears has an issue :(. Waiting to hear back--other three shocks/bags are clean.

Looks like you got a leaker there! I also had a large gouge on one of my coil overs. Sparks was great and had a new one on its way to replace it. They also sent a return label. Where did you get them from?

Sparks. Glad to hear you got it taken care of. Pays to check the box though when dropping that kind of $$$!

Good news is even though I’ll have to wait for a replacement, I can go ahead and do the fronts and alignment. Rears will be easy.

Looks awesome. Did you do the install yourself? Sparks sent me a return label for the rear, so hopefully will get that back soon. One of my front springs had a scuff, but I'm going to paint my tow hooks red, so I'll just hit it with some spray paint and should be good. I bought some JBA UCAs to go with them. The red is going to look awesome.

What is the difference in the ride between a stock Platinum suspension vs Fox TRD Pro suspension??

Ride is improved. Significantly better off-road too. (I have a 1794-same factory as platinum suspension)

It is better and improved in what way? Is there a smoother ride? Does the truck handle corners better?

Ride height is up from stock; the ride handles bumps/road imperfections with less harshness; not sure that it corners “better”, but more confidence with absorption when turning. Off-road doesn’t feel like the truck is going to rattle/fall apart on washboard with vibration

Past off-road on roads where you needed to go 20mph or less, can go 30-40mph

Can the shocks in the rear be adjusted depending on load??

No…some have added roadmaster active suspension or sumo springs to help if you are towing heavier loads. I tow a 3500lb with my boat or when I pull my side x side and don’t have any concerns with load. I have towed a 8k lb 29ft travel trailer, for a hunting trip, without issue…but that was my buddy’s and I don’t really tow that type of load. Should also note, I’m on 35s with 20x9 wheels and have the Westcott Designs lift on it too

I'm guessing this isn't an item that needs to be vin checked before buying? Would a dealer have no issue installing this on an non TRD Pro? I would think not but not sure how dealers really are with even OEM equipment that's not standard on different trim levels.
