    Folks:

I'm a new Tundra Owner (2021 SR5). I've had the truck about a month, but today was the first time I drove it much in the rain. On the highway, in a pretty steady rain, but not torrential, the PCS light came on for about 10 minutes, then turned off. This was about half way on a 45 mile trip. The owner's manual says the light indicates "a malfunction in the PCS or that the system is temporarily unavailable due to the vehicle being extremely hot/cold, or dirt around a front sensor, etc". It is in the upper 50's temperature wise.

Is the sensor that sensitive that rain could cause an issue? For those who've had their truck much longer than me, is this normal or is it time to go back to the dealer?

Goto dealer there was an update but I figured on a 2021 Model they would have done it already.

I have a 2020. Got it in January. I use radar cruise all the time. I think maybe 2-3 times has it had problem with a seemingly light rain causing the PCS light to come on. In all instances after about 10 mins it would work again. You can hold the cruise activation button in for like 5 seconds to go to old fashioned constant speed cruise control if you need/want to.

I've seen it a few times with steady rain, fog, and frosted up windshield but I'm not to concerned about it since I don't use the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control since it's been a pain when cars exit a ramp ahead of me. I don't know about the Pre-Collision System and I don't either.

The PCS/TSS sensor is really sensitive to rain, snow, etc. There is a recall but my 2019 had the upgraded sensor and it’s still sensitive. Apparently very common and the OM discusses this too.

We had some frost this morning, and the warning light went off again for about 15 minutes.

I haven't had the chance to get to the dealer yet, but I'll post back here what they say.

I've only had two times mine didn't work and both times there was heavy frost on the truck.

Haven't driven in heavy rain yet, though.

Rain, dirt, fog, ice, pretty much any little thing that'll obscure it ever so slightly will send it into a frenzy.

I just experienced this for the first time yesterday. Was the first time I had the truck out in snow. It was a heavy wet almost slush snow and the pcs light came on and was off by the time I was out of the store... The sensor must have just been covered in slush?

This most closely aligns with my own experiences. I usually ignore it, luckily it doesn't appear to actually do anything unless you like radar cruise control (which I hate).

Very common. I’d love to find a way to bypass the TSS radar sensor.

That sensor is amazing especially when towing.

I get it but I learned to drive in the day where you actually, as a responsible driver, had to pay attention to traffic and maintain control of your vehicle without the aid of a computer.

    Please elaborate...

I tow frequently so I'm curious why you think this sensor does anything.

The radar cruise works well in my truck. It’s not perfect but I don’t expect it to be.
