    No they just need to swap the guts into a 2018 Sequoia shaped housing for backward compatibility.

    There is so far a combined 17 years worth of compatible vehicles, between the 2nd gen tundra and current sequoia which they can market to.

    For you probably PnP they showed them at SEMA in a 1794 so DRL still working, by that time was only a prototype not sure if they changed anything for mass production version

    Seems to be easy to make a harness for the 2018 with LED headlights, parts needed is a pair of 90980-10896 a pair of generic H4 female plugs and wire, but thats another history :) first let wait anyone jump into this mod
