I tried to open my truck this morning and it didn't work (battery is shot i guess in key fob) then tried to use regular door lock to open and nothing happened.

When I changed out the handles from chrome last year did I forget to hook something up?

When I take the drivers side handle off what should I be looking for?
    Thx!

I would doubt very seriously that it is something you did last year with the door handles. If you had messed something up, I'm sure it would have made itself known long before now. I think you are on the right trail focusing on the key fob. Does the lock work ok when you use the key to unlock the driver's door?

This happened with my 2015. It would just randomly not unlock and sometimes it would. It ended up being the lock actuator needing to be replaced. Its a common problem with some of the tundras.
