I am in a position of having to sell my truck and am looking for some pricing assistance. The dealership said they would give me $56,500 and said they would post it on the lot for $83,000.

Its not worth 83k they are high as a kite. 56 sounds like an amazing offer to me, especially from a dealer. Modifications aren’t worth as much when selling a truck, maybe sell off some

Yep. Op could probably change some or most of the truck back to stock and get a very similar offer

I would think that some of those mods would be easily removed and sold and the dealer would be none the wiser. Like the Switch Pro and the Hypertech for example. They don't know what those are.

Or, try to sell on you're own, someone couldn't build what you got for under 65 grand.

No way a dealer gets $83k for it, mid to high 60's maybe.

Probably catch a ton of hate for this comment but aftermarket mods don't increase resale value of the vehicle. Yes sometime you can list it higher and the right buyer will pay the price especially in this market. But aftermarket also limits the buyers market even more, have to find the right buyer. Dealerships will give you the lowest they can and list it for crazy amounts and let it sit till the right person comes along, or just keep marking it down to get attention. Sucks that aftermarket doesn't help resale I was in the same boat getting rid of my 16 limited all the dealers wanted to give low kbb value for it.

I 100% agree with Mat , I was collecting a pile of parts for a 2019 LC200 , I bought a 2020 before the prices went crazy and they could not give away LC200 land cruisers in December of 2019 and January 2020 just before the whole covid out break Heritages went for 79k in my area .
I gave the wife the 2019 with only 1500 miles on it and she never drove it she liked the BMW and Highlander over the LC200 … Go figure .
I had 15k in aftermarket parts , ended selling the 2019 and I would have lost money if I had installed all those parts on top of the 15k in parts .
There are people out there with stupid money and no skills and thats who buys trucks like this .
General rule , vehicles are fastest devaluating asset you can own … not last year and this year , I made money on all my extra newer vehicles , if you had backup vehicles and wanted to cash out or trade up you did well in most cases .

Yep, 100% agree. Dealers don't typically give you anything additional for mods but will charge more for it when they put it back on the lot. The most you'll get is selling it yourself or taking everything off and parting it out, but if you're breaking even somehow I guess you can consider yourself lucky.
