Absolutely tough for the family. I feel the worst for his new wife though. Just got married a year ago. Very close.

Really sucks. Years ago I had a friend who got paralyzed when his hi-lead logging yarder anchors' snapped. He went over the hillside with it. No chance to bail out. Was 20 years old and engaged to get married in a couple weeks.

I threw a couple bucks in the pot to help out (I know how hard medical bills are). Definitely sending out good thoughts and prayers for your friend and his family for a speedy recovery. Accidents of this nature are never a good thing to hear.

I was going to send a card to his wife with a bunch of gift cards for fast food and restaurants in the neighborhood but after searching there aren't too many chains in Grand Junction. So i think i am just going to put some cash in the card so the family doesn't have to worry about food while they are at the hospital.

So sorry Brian. Best thing you can do for him in the long run is to make sure his friends go visit him. My brother's best friend got paralyzed from the neck down. 3 years later, his wife left him, all his supposed friends forgot about him, even his fraternity brothers who vowed to be his brother for life all just dumped him. My brother was the only person that ever visited him, and 10 years later, still does once a month. He told my brother the worst part of all this wasn't becoming paralyzed, but realizing how few true friends he had.

Hey Brian just got home from work and saw this. Not a way to end my day. Sooooo sorry for you, your friends, their families and everyone that is impacted. I am not sure if I am the first to say, but we are all one big family on this Forum, and I am sure we all have a prayer to send your way. Such a beautiful couple, with a tragic occurrence so early on in their marriage. We are all here to support you anyway we can. Stay strong my friend.........

Thank you all for the kind words and most importantly the prayers. The family needs all the prayers we can give. That is why I reached out on here. I knew you all would offer up prayers. He truely deserves them.

We are not allowed to ask for GFM links, but I'm overriding that. I know the guy...Brian is close friends with him and have helped him several times.

I've lived 34 years so far never having to know such pain as this. So I can't even imagine or begin to think I fully understand what you or his family are going through.
Reading your post however has filled my heart with sadness and caused me to pause. While I'll go back to regular routines in short time, many will not, if ever.

I'll be holding my kids a little closer tomorrow morning.
Thank you for sharing this story, my thoughts and prayers and more will be with you and his family.

May peace, calm and clarity come to us all.
