What rear springs? I ask because I can tail the ever-livin’ shit out of mine without any noticeable axle wrap or wheel hop.

5.29, Powertrax, 34” tires, and Deaver springs.

If you’re stuck with OEM springs, yeah. I can see problems. What’s the cost of traction bars compared to quality springs?

    Too many mods to come

This would depend on tire size and other factor. 4.88s or 5.29 I currently run stock gears and I’m on 37s.

Like @reywcms said, tire size will dictate what gearing changes you make. I'm on 5.29s and 37s but not supercharged. Keith from Dirty Deeds has made the argument that if you're SC'ing and running larger wheels, 4.88s is best due to the quick spooling a SC offers. Taller gears = better lower end torque (among the usual no gear hunting/highway riding at higher than optimal RPMs) but you'll lose top end speed as a result. I cap at about 88mph on highways due to my 5.29s and no tuning/ECU changes. If you're supercharged, you're obviously gaining a ton of torque/hp throughout the throttle range so the need for 5.29s for optimal "get up and go" with larger/heavier tires is negated. Hence, 4.88s.

If SC’d it might be worth it for 37s. I can safely say after discussion with other members referencing dragy data that my truck runs every bit as good on stock gears and 33s as other supercharged trucks with 5.29s and 35s, which despite the larger tire size comes out to an effective gear ratio much lower than mine (roughly .66 shaft rpm per axle rpm lower). The SC definitely reduces the necessity for a regear IMO.

I’d argue that gearing is important, regardless of power levels. You’re 100% of the time going to be better off to operate within the optimal rpm range. Why not take advantage of all that extra S/C power by letting it rip??
