Hi there - newbie question. Looking for location of passenger side rubber grommet. I’m installing a Pop & Lock tailgate Power Lock. For the life of me I can’t figure out the entry point to bring in the wire at the passenger front. Tips? What am I missing?

    Welcome from NY.

It's kinda in the center of the passenger side floor pan but to the right. Looking at the passenger side frame rail lookon the left side of the rail, it's pretty much tucked in by the frame.

Thanks Jim. I was looking toward the front, not under the crew cab. That did it!

KTJO makes a Plug N Play harness for this, it's part of their tailgate lock kit, but can be sold as just a harness. I have it on my 2016 and use the Pop Lock tailgate lock kit as well. I don't like to cut or splice wires if I don't have to.

The easiest way is to locate the connector first, find the one that matches the instructions and count the pins based on how the connector looks facing you. That's how I did it on my 2014, before this harness came out.

Hi Steve! I am going through the exact same situation you did. Were you able to figure out those wires? I already spliced into two of them that a video recommended on youtube but that didn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

I had this problem, too. Toyota changed the wire colors over the years. This is the video that had the right color wire for my 2008: https://youtu.be/6ly6hg0nz0Y

That might not be right for you... I think I tried 5 different wires from 5 different write-ups before I found the one. Sorry I don't have a better answer.
