You are lucky to have remote tailgate unlock. My fobs come with Open/Close buttons and Panic button, no tailgate button.

Thanks for the info! Someone else told me the same thing. I have the hardware in my garage now. Just waiting for an opportunity to install it. Maybe over Thanksgiving.

I had posted previously that all I received were the two fobs with the hard keys in them. This weekend I found the full sized key, right where I hid it the day I bought the truck! My question is, what use is this key? You can lock/unlock the tailgate and doors but you cannot start the truck with it, or can you? Am I missing something?

Lol - good question. I was so excited that i had keyless locks and push to start that i didn’t even bother to figure out what that key was for. In my 08 the spare key was a “valet” key that could start the truck but not unlock the glove box (because it’s so secure in there). In the manual for the’21 it says to lock the glove box with the key that is inside the fob and then just give the valet the fob (keep the hard key).

So i honestly don’t know what the single lone key is for.

This is a nice feature that comes in handy making multiple supply stops when there's a lockable cover. I added the tailgate power lock option when I ordered mine though IMO should have been an included feature with the Platinum model (and it's western sibling 1794).

From years of owning pickups where there's cold/ice I can state you'd want the full-size key for leverage using a lighter to heat the key to unlock a frozen tailgate lock. ;)
