Sweet, dodged a bullet. My 21 was made November 2020 so I'm out of the range.

Anyone know if the halogen light recall would remain a concern if we swapped over to oem LEDs with ihackers harness?

Sure doubt it, sounded like it was the actual halogen bulbs causing issues.

I bet mine is gonna be on the "list".
I have not gotten an Email yet, not sure they even have my Email.

I have a custom ordered long bed that allegedly took 4+ months to show up and the buyer backed out last second, and I happened to grab it 8 hours later(last sunday). What dates are we looking at for recall on these '21s.

How to I determine what date this truck was built?

The date your truck was built should be in the drivers door jam .

    Ok
    Says 10/21
I'm thinking that date is a late 21 recall date

Technically no. But you’ll still have the issue of high and low being on at the same time when using the high beams

I see March’21 on the sticker in the door sash. Maybe I dodged one.

I wonder if this would actually cause an issue. I think I've used high beams once....

Same here. I learned to drive in a 63 International Scout. My build date puts me in the recall group and since I'm south for the winter I'll speak with the dealer in Spanish Fort AL when they do my 5K service.

    Yes
    I understand that
Does that place in the recall timeframe?

Can't tell yet. Recall states early August to mid October.

So I checked my 2021 tundra and no recall but I also checked my camry and I have a recall on it. The automatic brake system problem but they haven't figured out what the fix is

Have not received a notice about the power steering but did just receive the notice (with no fix available) about the headlights.

The LED headlights should draw less current than their halogen equivalents, so should negate over heating issues for LED headlights. Maybe the halogen headlight fix is to upgrade everyone to LEDs.

I think october is when they made the final 2021s and the plant became a 2022 making machine.

So I am guessing every truck from august forward is gonna have the possible power steering failure issue.
Hope that isn't the case but...

I was thinking that would be the best solution but Toyota will resolve all cheaper solutions before resorting to that. Would be pretty sweet though to get free LED's. Not holding my breath however.

I got my truck last December so I shouldn’t be affected but it got me thinking, I’ve got a 3 inch lift and 35’s, can they deny people with lifts and larger tires? Saying the parts failed because of lift/tires

If you're rack hasn't failed yet there's nothing to be concerned about regarding modifications.

I'm more impressed that they produced these 22k trucks in 3 months considering how backed up everything was.

My truck says built in 8/21. We shall see. I checked the Lookup Safety Recall site , which stated no current recalls, but they may be playing catch up. I am right at 5k miles.

Mine was built Aug 2 ‘21 and I have a recall notice appearing on the Toyota App under Vehicle Health Report so probably from Aug until that last Red ‘21 rolled off…5889010A-B960-4219-8084-31BB5EDFA734.jpg

I realize that. It was more of question of those who are affected and have a lift or bigger tires. Wasn’t sure if Toyota can deny recall work for an item that can suffer from premature failure because of aftermarket work.

Are they all made in a single line? I would think there are a couple assembly lines in different buildings.
If multiple? could it just be a "bad batch" of racks affecting a single assembly line? Hence the non straight across the board recalls?
