The 45lb halibut I caught off Sooke BC last may, the funny looking guy on the right is me.

Should have been mine.... I set my line out and handed my rod over to my dad so I could grab a bite to eat. One bite into my sandwich and he set the hook into this one.

First Largemouth of the year, small only 2 lbs but it caught it on an ultralight rod with a crappie jig. Caught a small bass about 12" long and had a 3 foot or so pike swipe at it as I was getting it in the boat.

A few others I've caught at this pond, not at today obviously. The largemouth there are colored nice as well as the crappie. @rons23 you need to come up to do some fishing in the spring if you can get away.

@Noodle beautiful bass, that color is awesome. I've caught tons of Fla. bass never one with bright colors like that...

As much as I love bass fishing I'd rather be in WV trout fishing any day of the week. Check out the colors on this native brook trout my son caught this past summer. It was half an inch shy of being a citation, he was so bummed.

    Nice trout...
What are you using for the bass? I saw a frog in one mouth...

Most of the time I throw a Koppers live target frog. All the fish in post #137 were caught on a whopper plopped. Frog fishing is a blast, I use 50lb braided line on a 7' med. heavy action rod with a bait caster. Seeing them big bass blow up on a top water frog will definitely get your heart rate going.

A rainbow I caught a few years back at a local mountain lake. Was 20.5" long IIRC, I caught one two days prior at 21", but left the camera at home that day.

Made for a couple of very memorable summer evenings in the float tube, both were caught at dusk with the moon rising, then wham, your 6wt fly gear is getting a workout. :)

Couple of years ago I hooked a big Chinook on my steelhead rig....I know the feeling of wanting to land the fish but not trying to rush. Fun times!

Last year when fishing Aransas bay off Texas coast we got into a mess of trout. Unfortunately so did the dolphins. Here is a pic of what was left of a monster trout my son hooked Dolphins got to it before he could get it in the boat.
