It’s nice to have a friend that commercial fishes. The daughter and a couple of her friends go out catch snapper he gets free labor. They caught 300 pounds of Snapper and as they were unloading it people were buying filets. Somehow a nice bag of filets makes it back to my house. He’s a good friend and an old fishing buddy. :)

Daughter never takes any pictures offshore she says they are much to busy catching fish!!:) They left late 7:30ish and was back by around noon. Flat calm so they could run hooked up. The two friends that our daughter asked to go had never been offshore before so she said they had a fun time and caught Snapper for their first time. There was another boat that saw them and they did not like the fact that they were catching all those fish but our friend has to call it in every trip and he has a transponder on the boats. All fish/ poundage is accounted for and reported, it a huge deal about sustainability and all that. The Texas DNR sometimes meet the boats and actually sits there and makes sure numbers reported are the same that come off the boats.

    Nice!!

I’ll take a picture of a line splicer holder I have made. I splice most of my daughter’s lines for her and a couple others for their boat rods.

Left my phone on shore, but pulled in a couple nice dorados out of Loreto, B.C.S. a few days ago. Nothing earth shattering, but they tasted good…

Had a nice marlin chasing our feathers, but couldn’t get him to play.

Nothing crazy but the 8 year old has been slaying the bass this year. 3 year old hooked and reeled his first in yesterday on the river and did not disappoint!

The bigger one just before this, got away as I was trying to grab him.

I wasn't expecting to be targetting Channel Catfish, but the Carolina Rig for goldeye and smaller cats, was getting washed away in the current. I was using light tackle (12lb rod and 10lb test), no net.

Was super fun as both ran the drag on full (Penn Battle II 2000, braid) and each gave a 5-10min fight.

    Released immeidately.

This was sent to me. What is left of a monster Mako. They said the head weighed 100kg. This was a monster so the shark or sharks had to be awfully big to eat this thing!!! There are die giants out there for sure!:) Yes Mako is delicious,,,,, to other sharks too evidently. :)

This is around Windmill Point at the mouth of the Rappahannock, Chesapeake Bay.

7/21, day after a storm. Chesapeake Bay was like a lake! I didn't expect a hot bite due to the storm but fishing as amazing.

I was after Spanish Mackerel. Other were chumming for Cobia and seemed to be catching as well. Signs of life everywhere, baitballs, schools of fish, birds. It was an amazing day. Caught all I wanted, size between 19 and 23 inches, kept 5, lost a couple and threw one back. Then moved to slow troll for Cobia on way back but no luck with them.
