Just booked my annual long range trip for next Fall, so pics will have to wait. My son and I are doing a 5-day trip on Cedros Island.

But, I’ll be in the steelhead in February…

Maybe some Lingcod in the meantime?

Caught this small Red last week. Didn't bother to weigh it as he was a mere minnow measuring 36" Nose to fork. Interesting tail spots.PXL_20231210_130409845.jpg

Tim! You salty sumbitch!!! I’ve met you and your brother at the SSS a few times, typically at the tackle building booth. I’m the volunteer that bullshits with you while you fella knock out a year’s worth of halibut rigs.

I'm originally from South Arkansas where there are no smallmouth, moved close to Bull Shoals and Table Rock so I get to catch a few here and there. My biggest actually came off of the bank at the high water ramp when Bull Shoals was over 20' high. They fight to the end!!

:) Familiar faces! (on that note: The orange Harvey in the photo ultimately became the mold for Breaker Dory)

And a chance to plug the cause: Oregon Coalition for Educating Anglers (OCEANED) - https://saltwatersportsmensshow.com/ (Every year the end of February in Salem Oregon)

Sure hope the Big-O lays down more often and soonest. I have left-over halibut and tuna clone rigs from last year and didn't build any this go-round.

My brother caught a 48" halibut slab on Saturday! :muscleflexing:

I was using a tiny hook with a tiny piece of fishbites on my 4# test ultralite to catch Croakers to use as bait to catch Bull Reds. What did I catch? A mini Bull Red. 30.5" long. The challenge was being on a fishing pier with sharp barnacles all over the posts. Note the close up picture. He had been hooked before My tiny hook is on the other side of his mouth. Both hooks removed and released unharmed.IMG_20240423_150723.jpg IMG_20240413_205428.jpg IMG_20240423_150806.jpg
