Saturday was a great day fishing with 12 total fish! The bigger Largemouth Bass came in at 5.09, 4.42, 3.68 and 3.16. The catfish was 3.10 and was caught on a bladed jig lol. The fall bite is just starting in Missouri.

Son & I usually fish for bass here in Indiana. He caught this huge crappie on a popper a few nights ago.
18” 3.1lbs. We thought it was a bass until he finally got it around to the net.

Got on a great drum bite. Fish were 24-30" upper slot . I caught majority of them on a blue back/ orange belly SheDog topwater bait, what a blast it was. Caught a couple of solid trout to compliment the day.

    Gear used-
Osprey CE reel in 2500 and 3000 size
Rods-7' Sniper and 7'6 Custom Bolt both from Bull Bay Rods.
Line - Power Pro Slick V2 in 10# test with 20# Vanish Flourocarbon for the leader.
Baits- SheDog topwater 5", ZMan Diezel Paddle tail in Mulletron color.

Water was Gin clear and ranged from 2' to 5'. Fished a incoming tide.

Some of the catches this year. One good thing about living in Hawaii you can fish year round.

Tuna fish is in a can and is the equivalent of :spam: compared to what you have there.

When I was younger I fished offshore about 10-12 times a year. When my kids were 7 and 4 we went to a wedding that had tuna salad on crackers. They came running to us saying the tuna was bad. They had never had canned tuna before.

Guess I got a fishing problem. I put 250 hours on the water since May. I think I can squeeze another 20 or so before end of the year if the weather lets up.

These are my entries from this Summer when I completed my Cutthroat Slam in UT....did it all in 3 days! The tiny bugger was the last one caught and the hardest, fishing wise....the Yellowstone was the most difficult to hike in and out of.

That's awesome - sounds like a blast! I haven't fished much at all since middle school (apart from the 2 deep sea charters me & some friends went on the past two years - which were fantastic). I realized the last time I went fresh water fishing about 10 years ago that I didn't have the patience for it. I didn't catch a thing and I got frustrated. Which is weird b/c I can stay in a tree stand all day waiting for deer. And I can go an entire season in the woods, not get anything, and I still love it. Maybe I just need to suck it up, learn more about fishing (again), and keep going. Because I love nature & the outdoors and my summers would be filled with awesome adventure like you posted if I could get in to it. Do you ever cook up some of your trout catch or are you solely catch & release?

I've never been much of a fisher, but my brother from another mother is a fly fishing guide, and a few years back, he got me started on this hobby and I love it. He has several world records and has completed the UT Slam in less than 24 hours...being a bachelor allows him to do that, and the dedication to his craft is second to none.

This will be my next pursuit...
    https://westernnativetroutchallenge.org/faq/

As far as catching and release, thats all I do. I'm not a huge fan of trout in general for eating, so it makes it easy.

hahaha - just realized there was a separate fishing group - well, I'll post these here, and take down from hunting & guns.

These are yesteryear - didn't get out (didn't make time to get out) this year. Gonna hit it up in the spring.
