Can’t believe it has taken me until March for the first trip of the year. But my Dad’s boat was getting lots of new upgrades over winter after its first fishing season.

But at least the first trip was a great one! First fish of the day was this 39.5” Lingcod that I caught. (Also the biggest of the day)

I then proceeded to hook 4 additional lingcod before anyone else on board caught a single thing. My Dad always has a good laugh when this happens and can see how frustrated the guys are getting that I’m out fishing them.

All in all we limited on lingcod, almost limited on rock fish, and caught 38 Dungeness crab.

Got out again this weekend. Near limit on lingcod and rock fish.

Plus, I bought myself a little 13.5’ boat yesterday.... (a 1960 Glasspar) for me and my sister to crab the bay and do some salmon and perch fishing when my Dad isn’t at the coast with his 23’ Hewes Craft. It’s perfect for us girls to handle on our own. :p

Opening weekend at Riggs Flat, we smashed it!!! Still super cold up at 9k in AZ so we called it a day early! I used a THomas bouyant rainbow spoon for all of my casts, tried a watermelon spoon but nothing would touch it. We’ve been to this lake before and know right where the honey hole is; anchor on top of it and cast out in any direction and pull one in. 3979BEC3-E427-41CE-9137-83BA8D621CA3.jpg727A5CBB-6DBB-499C-8D4D-490983D5B6B2.jpg83D5623A-EC54-4291-9000-E32BF263DAFB.jpg4C3E7D1B-7166-4652-8CE3-B3463F3FE3CD.jpg65E16267-B328-448F-8DC3-22D3B2F13D55.jpg

Very nice! We went to Parker Canyon last week and didn't catch shit. Although, Parker is at 5,000' and kinda in between cold and warm fishing season right now. Had a great time camping though.

Did you read/hear about the new regs?! 4daily, but they are stocking big boys now! All over 1.5lbs supposedly. One guy on my fishing page said he did great down there recently(they just stocked the big boys there at Parker)
Parker can still get pretty damn cold with the wind and no real cover

I did see a posting of the new limit, doesn't bother me as I catch and release (love fishing, don't like eating fish). Probably didn't help that the lake was as crowded as I've ever seen it and the water level is about 10' down. Oh, yeah, it was windy as fuck.

The boxer and I caught some rainbows today! Could have limited out but my little cooler could only hold four of those guys. They are in brine now, smoking them tomorrow!
