They’re all over out here. It helps CPW track what birds are being taken. I know in this particular area they realeased some sharptail to try and establish them.

Haha yeah if I lived over there I’d probly be in the paper all the time (or jail) for swiping horns off the refuge. That was a really good month and a half though.

I’m in Eastern Washington, my best buddy and horn hunting partner moved to Sheridan a while ago. Makes me hate busting my ass here for the horns I get compared to the horns he gets over in your neck of the words.

Yeah I keep saying I’m gonna head up there but by the time I’ve hit my regular spots it’s too late

 

I don’t find many keepers down where I’m at. Just lots of elk. Hard to find anything 340+ Even 330 is hard to break most years. But in Sheridan I don’t think it’s a problem.

 

Here’s a lion I killed off a fresh kill. I was cow hunting when I found the deer, and snuck in early the next am and shot her leaving the kill. 8.5 year old female.

Not a big animal but they are fun to hunt with a flintlock. Gun is a 58 cal/24 ga trade gun. Has a smooth bore barrel to shoot round ball or shot. I use a mix of 6 & 5 shot for squirrels.

 

Got any good recipes?

 

When I get about 5 or 6 more, I’ll dig up my mom’s recipe for squirrel potpie. With homemade dough. No store bought noodles. Ya almost get a gravy sauce to it.

 

Punched both antelope tags less than a mile from the truck. Had to explain to my wife it's not usually like this.
