Opening evening here in Missouri. I managed a button buck and my FIL shot a 3 pointer. I had a 6 pointer walk up behind the tree stand within 5 yards but couldn’t move without spooking it.

Soooo, i know alot of you think that us Texas folk, cheat by being able to feed. The kicker to this is that, this isnt a deer story. This is an Aoudad that i was able to get on camera at my feeders. We hunt low fence and our lease has some nice High Fence properties within a few miles of it. All i can think is this bad boy was able to breakout of the high fence and found his way to my feeder.

I have no issues with high fences or feeding. If I was given he opportunity I probably would as well.

Because Texas has that many exotic animals, can you hunt them or do you have to let them go and call the properties from where they came from? I've heard of big whitetails getting out of high fence areas and game department will kill them because they dont want them breading with native deer. Is this also true?

We arent on a high fence, cant afford that. There is no way to tell where the animals come from, or to track where they go. As far as law concerned if animal is on our property we are within our rights to shoot it, as long as we have proper license and tags available. As for as the Aoudad, there is no law or rule on it, no designated tag for it as long as hunting license is valid. Not sure how parks and Wildlife handle it, but i wouldnt think they would just kill an animal cause it got loose.

EDIT: I just thought it was cool as ive never seen one. Then to see one on camera, its kind of surreal to know that our little ole hunting spot/hang out, one decided to make an appearance. Being they come from Africa, definitely out of the norm for here.

It is cool. Only thing cooler would have been there to actually see it. He looks huge. Seems there are lots of African species thriving in Texas. That's pretty cool.

Just out of curiosity, why do you call him a cull buck? Isn't he too young to really have any idea of what he might be?
