Monterey is about 4 hours from me but wanted to share.
In the bottom picture there are some seals laying on the beach. Some of them were white, I've seen thousands of seals or sea lions before but never that color.

This is today where I live. Every time I get frustrated that there aren't many job opportunities or specialty businesses I remember I live in paradise.

At the south end of San Diego Bay is a small ship repair outfit. Today they took in a Navy vessel with a very shallow draft ~ good thing, too since it was at relatively low tide.
If we had all day I'd have stayed and watched the whole procedure. The next step would be to use the crane to bring the vessel into the repair facility from the pier.
Needless to say, it's a perfect situation for a "Sidewalk Superintendent" like me.

    20210520_104705.jpg

Here's a poor quality cell phone pic showing a few of the other ships in drydock at this facility.

I can smell that pike from here!

Actually was up in Wisconsin doing some fishing with a guide for a couple days in 2019. Fished Lake Wapogasset and a few others near Amery. Lots of walleye and few large mouth and pike, including a nice 10lb pike. Hope to do that again this summer when I visit my family who all live north of the Twin Cities.

Snapped this guy taking a snooze this afternoon. We dropped from about 80° to 40° the last couple days.

According to Google "When hummingbirds sleep and are in the Torpor state, they have been known to hang upside-down. If you find a hummingbird that is hanging upside-down and they appear to be dead, it is actually more likely that they are just asleep. They will probably not even respond if you touched them. If at all possible, leave them alone and they will wake up when they get warmer."

Went out trail riding this evening. Super fun, but it’s getting too hot here in AZ. May need to wait out the summer before going again.

I recently saw two fir trees twisted up like that, but it’s the first time in my 44 years.
