An East Asian spider known for its colorful nicknames and strong, golden silk has moved into the U.S. state of Georgia—the first time the species has been recorded in North America.

I am finding more Joro, and they have adapted to life in Georgia by building their web much higher off the ground than native spiders. UPS trucks slip below them on my mother's driveway.

    What an awesome thread!

I walk my pup 3 miles about every Saturday along this creek. There are fish in it, lots of water birds and coyotes too.

Carter County, KY. Lots of formations, caves, and natural bridges.

The creek (Tygart's Creek) in the pic will basically be in my backyard in 6 weeks or so when we move into our new house. I could literally put in a kayak and ride it for 12 milesto Carter Caves State Park. There is so much natural beauty here, and I probably still haven't seen half of it in 10 years living in the area.

It’s off Bush Hwy on the way out to Saguaro Lake, the official name is Water Users Recreational Area. This spot is off the path at the southwest end of the parking lot.
