Actually, it was about 65% of my clients that looked like that squat chick.

The others were guys trying to get jacked but that percentage was smaller than the heavy chicks.

Best thing though, they stick with you for a year or so, and they end up looking like squat chick. Those are actually the ones that stick with you and keep coming back to maintain their body and/or improve on it.

Hate to say it but one or two clients, I did have to roll over. Those clients were over 60% bodyfat.......
Its to the point where nothing surprises me anymore. Scary thought but, they're there to lose weight, not get judged.

It takes serious balls to walk into a studio or warehouse filled with weights, bands, kettle bells, ropes etc and be greeted by a guy who's made fitness his life when you're a guy/girl who's let themselves go to insane proportions. Talk about stepping out your "comfort zone"

Sounds crazy....but yeah. I've noticed heavy people are less likely to come into a gym or a studio in fear of other people looking at them like they're the elephant man.

Yeah I was trying to pull off an Anchorman quote but that failed lol.

I hear ya - I remember my first time going to the gym when I was a skinny scrawny kid and all I kept thinking was how everyone was bigger than me and what they thought of me. The first few months I only did cardio because I was so afraid to enter the weight room lol.

LOL oh dude that went right over my head!! I wasn't in Ron Burgundy mode!!

Man, first gym I went to was an old school gym filled with guys who had striped tube socks, feathered mullets and beards. Dumbbells went up to 150 and if you didn't squat, deadlift or bench, you were a pussy.
I was 6'1" 140 lbs soaking wet and couldn't bench the bar for 5 reps to save my life! Luckily, most guys who lift heavy are the nicest guys in the world. They took me in and taught me the foundations. Never let me go near the treadmills. When I tried, this guy We called Poche (poshay) (southern name) a beast of a guy benched 500, squatted 650 and deadlifted 700 would grab me by the neck and would throw me in the squat rack, bench or in front of the DB's and say "Son, you can't get any skinnier so cardio ain't gonna help. Get some iron in you!"

Those guys are the ones that instilled the "lift and let lift - no BS" mentality in me LOL :benchpress:

Can't beat the Herc. My dad let me get up close to a new Herc in 1965 at El Toro MCAS. I was 10. Herc's (upgraded of course) still rule. I spent numerous hours biding my time in Herc's years later when I was in Marine Wing. Fortunately most of that time was in southern J Pan and PI. <<<<WARM
