pop & Lock question

I am about to get the pop & lock, when you unlock it does the tailgate open and drop down ? Or does it just unlock / lock ?

Although I could see a couple benefits if the gate actually opened when you're carrying a load of stuff but it would sure suck to have to get out and close the gate every time you unlock the truck. Also if you were backed up to a wall or someone else's car that would thoroughly suck.

 

thanks @15whtrd I assumed it did just that , I could see denting the tailgate if it opened / dropped the gate ! Going to order it today !!

 

There is a separate mod floating around, (Not sure if its on this forum) that involves installing a couple solenoids, to automatically drop the gate down. Just google "tundra remote tailgate release", but no. the pop&lock, just unlocks the tailgate latch.
