I'm looking for a lockbox to put a pistol in in my 2005 DC. A quick search on the site revealed plenty of options if I have a 2nd or 3rd gen. Does anyone have any info on a good pistol lockbox for our 1st gens.

Welcome to first gen life. Tons of shit for the others; limited selection for us.

I always just shoved mine under the arm rest on the bench seat so I'd like to see if theres anything as well.

Maybe we can get an interest started by the 1st gen crew and get one of the wonderful fabricators to make us one. I know there has to be quite a few people who would like a lockbox, for any reason for there center console.

Couple of ideas for sneaky storage areas. Being a Man of the Clothe with mad Jujitsu Skills, I have no need for exploding hand held projectile dispensers. Wuurrld Peas!

    Ideas:

    1) Access Cab fold down rear seat middle arm rest: Pull out cup holder plastic and then customize a cut to fit your device neatly into the factory foam. Reinsert plastic for concealment.

    2) Access Cab front center console with Captains Chair: Pinch cup holder and pull up to remove the black plastic. Not much room for a large caliber, but depending on your piece you can get creative. I use that space for my hand protectors (large) and coffee house rewards cards.

That's where I stuff mine. It's actually almost completely out of sight unless someone just gets really lucky. I don't think a hurried smash and grab loser would find it. But now that I'm not commuting to work I don't leave a gun out there. I just keep it on my person. I don't think the OP is going to find a custom option for our trucks.

I have one similar to this that I have used in the past. It's not Fort Knox but would take several minutes for someone to open.

Follow up question, are you wanting one you can access really fast, or one you can just keep the gun secured in? I know the double cabs have a bit of space behind the rear seats. That might be your best bet. I can't think of a great location for you up front.

I keep one in a lockbox cabled to the seat frame if inside the cab, makes them work for it a little.

Mostly tough I just cable the same box in the bed between tools anchored to a cargo tie down.

I really dont want to be able to get access too quickly usually.
