I called Toyota corporate about my cam tower leak, just taking a chance that they might do something about it wit a rebate or maybe a break on the price of fixing it but it was a no go. And mine has been treated like a baby and only has 68,500 miles on it. My truck goes under the knife the 28th of this month and the estimate was around $2700. This sux

How bad is it. Tonight my buddy come over looked at it .And the first thing he said was thats nothing you should see the leeks I see on a gm that is as old as your truck. Lol I said I guess I should feel lucky then because my truck is at 80k miles but when I use it I use it. Pulling my camper loaded down .

I agree this needs to be addressed, but a petition where when I sign I agree to receive OCCASIONAL emails from the site host is not the way to get people to sign. I'm with you in spirit but I get enough spam as it is.

It’s not real bad but it’s been driving me crazy ever since I discovered it and I plan on keeping it for a long time plus I don’t owe anything on it and once it’s fixed i hope it stays fixed.

Will definitely sign. Just had mine done on my 2018 Trd sport with only 26k miles, who knows when it actually started because the oil leak was not sufficient enough to drip to the ground just burned off. Luckily it was covered and they found it early. I definitely feel bad for those that are past drive train Warranties.

2600 seems very high, not many parts. A few gaskets, seals, orings etc.

I suspect it's all the labour to tear the engine apart and then reassemble it.

Issue with getting repairs is watch for lose of hp and lag at acceleration and rpm drop. Day 2 on driving mine issue worse had to smash gas pedal to get engine to kick up rpms. Was gonna wait til Monday. But heading there in morning. Hour half drive and I work the night shift. Already talked to service . May be on way there it will catch fire and burn to ground.

Warranty pays like 9 hours, customer pay labor is usually 1.5 times that. So 14 to 15 hours. My Toyota labor rate is $115 per hour. Thats $1700 in labor. Maybe 300 in parts on the high side include fluids. $2000 tops plus tax.
